  • Andrew Zarian mentioned on We’re Live, Palthat people on the WWE side were the ones who first contacted the media to tip them off to the story of Cody Rhodes leaving AEW. Zarian said the WWE guys were “waving their WWE flag in victory” over the news, and the celebratory tone was excessive given Cody has not signed with WWE.
  • Someone told Zarian that Cody was particularly “upset” with the Forbes’ profile on Tony Khan where Khan took all the credit for AEW’s success.
I think that this is probably more true than anything, because in the beginning AEW was sold to the public as a joint venture between the Elite and Tony khan was the not silent investor. While that meant he we be the head booker, it was always said that the elite were actually EVP’s and had stake in the booking.

Now I never believed they were running the company but for Tony Khan to publicly say that he runs the show always had me thinking how the other EVP’s felt about it. It’s like he is taking all the credit and not giving any to anyone else.

I can understand the frustration

Not sure who wrote this, but if it ain't Meltzer, the person studied the "write a bunch of words that doesn't break any sort of noteworthy news whatsoever" style of journalism that Meltzer specializes in

I don't get some things. At this point I believe money was the reason over the EVP downgrade. Like if money was equal, I doubt he'd leave. So....why not pay him the money he wants lol? "He wants Punk money", so? All you heard from AEW fans and even Tony himself was he has more money than Vince.

He's one that wanted a video game before being in business 2 full years, you sunk money into that but can't afford losing money unless they're coming from Connecticut off 90 day clauses? Even for guys that helped build the company and train your wrestlers? And if he does have more money, why are his top guys paid WWE midcard/upper mid money? If Cody wants Punk money, he wants to be paid like the midcarder he is lol. What's wrong with that?

And then WWE knew a story was coming at 10am, next second they're the ones leaking the story at 10 am, but they haven't offered Cody a contract. So Cody left AEW over money but hasn't gotten the money he's looking for yet :skip:
is he worth it?

First part makes no sense, he hasn't had a contract for weeks but no one in wrestling media hinted at any kind of "Cody leaving AEW" story until both sides put out those official statements. There weren't any Punk/Bryan type leaks regarding him leaving or going back to WWE, that's why it was such a shock.

Don't forget the typos and the run on sentences that read like a David Foster Wallace novel.

Just posted by someone on another forum, I dont mess with WON stuff so idk
Just saw that according to WON there was a power struggle between Brandi and Omega over the women's division.
Tony ultimately had final say but Brandi was earmarked the division at first but Kenny wanted more involvement
.
She booked the women's tag team tournament and Kenny/Shida booked the women's eliminator tournament.
If all of this is true, it could be some of the reasoning for the haphazard way the division has been booked so far.
I'm wondering if we will continue to see improvements now that this rift is no longer there because we have seen some good strides for the division recently,
introduction of the new title, featuring multiple promo/backstage segments on a single show, even technically having 2 matches on the same show recently (lol).

How the fukk is Brandi even in the position to be booking ANYTHING
:hhh:

:francis:The more I read about Brandi, the more I realize she's just a Gem doll version of Stephanie Mcmahon:camby:. No matter how hard she tried, she will always be the lady that fukked up Jade's debut.
Apparently she was behind the tag team tourney where her and Bunny beat everyone until they got into the finals. :mjlol:
Then when dirt sheets reporting Brandi was hated, having Nyla/Red Velvet being the only ones to defend you is not a good look. Velvet is a member of the Nightmare Family or the very least close to it. We already know Swole didnt like Brandi too.

So far it sounds like Cawdy and Brandi were trying to make Trips/Steph moves and Kirby Khan hit them with the :camby:around the time of contract renewals.

And LMAO at Brandi and the Bunny being a powertrip in the tourney:deadmanny:. Breh when you give a mark a book, you thread lightly with the end results.

You clearly forgot when he had a WCW midcarder beat The Rock and Stone Cold in the same night to become the first Undisputed Champ :gucci:

Still till this day one of the most :dwillhuh: moves in wrestling history imo
The Jericho thing was different in my opinion. That has more to do with Vince wanting to entice other people to jump over. He has zero incentive to do so now imo.

Originally before kong walked.
I feel is when brandy had sway.
Over the course of that brandi probably lost power.

Brandi is not a good enough inring worker and lacks the proper workrate.
Plus the experience to book.
It just is.
She would need to go on the indies frfr and not be protected and work up. The same thing cody was supposed to do. Except he threw the rhodes name around to not have to to ramp.

Now all that shyt is exposed.
