The only people I think that should really feel a way about him leaving are the Nightmare Family: Arn, His students, Dustin, etc.

Tony let them use their gym to run shows during the pandemic and gave SUPER pushes to all that green ass nightmare factory talent. shyt would've never happened in WWE. Can't even get Brandi a deal :skip:

The build to this match has been pretty good considering Cody hasn't been on tv yet and Seth is carrying the program. Cody is indeed average, but he's not a bad hand, and knows the E style. I think y'all will appreciate him a little more after he arrives, and maybe a face turn on TSC if he ever gets a good heel run going.

I thought for a period there in the early days of AEW that Cody was the best thing they had going. It was only once he became completely tone deaf and too self indulgent that it was easy to sour on him. But I would say he’s going back to the WWE a better performer and on a big stage like WM he’ll deliver

At the end of the day, money talks. WWE is cutting a check that AEW can't match and he likely gets a Mania match which is something that every pro wrestler wants. He never left on bad terms so that door was always going to be open. His obsession with WWE in AEW will be interesting because it's surely going to have an impact on his booking.

To flip this back, if you were told you could either have Cody Rhodes (who was directionless for over a year and getting mixed reactions) reupped or use that money to sign Buddy Murphy, Keith Lee, and Swerve Strickland, what would you do?

He definitely was for a long time. Dude was the one who opened up the show and addressed everything when the pandemic started. Was the one that damn near everyone debuted and attacked to make the biggest impact. None of this shyt makes sense though, Even if it is about wanting "CM Punk Money", If he and Brandi are getting a combined 4-5 mil a year then that shyt is just dumb as hell....

Him not wanting to turn heel either is absolutely insane because as good as his last heel run was, This shyt imo would've been all time great just like Roman's current run:

He never changed his style when he left. Kept the same ol CAW E move set. Part of the reason I’m not surprised he went back there. in his entire post E run he’s only had 2 stand out matches with Brodie and Dustin.
