If it's not a work, I wonder if it's money related. Leaving AEW and TNT/TBS where he's EVP and starring in multiple reality shows seems odd. Meltzer did say that AEW does have a talent budget on his latest podcast.

AEW's getting so much talent, they can't keep everyone. Maybe Cody just isn't getting the raise he thinks he deserves. WWE's making more money than ever and could easily sign Cody if they wanted.

Money related and/or that rumor that he and the other higherups are at odds about the direction of the company are true. IIRC Cody wanted to focus more on storylines/promo and Khan/other EVPs just wanted more straight wrestling.

This is crazy and frankly embarrassing for AEW if he goes to WWE.

It was only a matter of time before a big AEW name jumped ship after the original contracts ran out. I just never thought it would be Cody. He's the main AEW star who uses his promos to bash WWE.
