but pillman literally did this in WCW minus the reality show plot, and you KNOW thats the shyt that tony khan eats up.

We'll see.

Of course, but Pillman also worked WCW into giving him a release for real. Bischoff thought he was in on it and then he wasn't.

Then he got in a crash and his value dropped so he took the guaranteed $ from WWE (one of the first new guys to get such a deal, I believe Marc Mero was the very first months earlier)

Etc etc

I just think Cody and AEW couldn't come to a $ deal. I don't have the disdain a lot of us here do for Cody but I agree he seems to have quite the ego about himself now and can totally see him asking for the same $ as Punk and then being miffed when it didn't happen.

I absolutely did.

  • The work is a storyline to play out on their second season of the reality show.
  • In on it are Tony, Cody, Brandi, Goldust, and people at TNT/TBS who are producing the show
  • The dirt sheets are being worked and being fed info that they're leaving AEW, and in fact they are MOST LIKELY doing a pillman/wcw "leaving the company" angle only he actually is 'coming back' unlike pillman
  • On the show the 'struggle to find himself' and where to go, whether to leave AEW and go to hollywood or that other place is a season long story
  • then he returns as the triumphant AEW he thinks he is ( :mjlol: )
I could be wrong but nothing about this seems legit to me and it seems the type of bullshyt Cody thinks is great

That's true but you yourself just said a few minutes ago that you can't tell whether it's a shoot or not... i'm not sure either. Here's why i believe it could be a shoot.

-Cody's an egomaniac.
-Bruised ego leads to separation
-WWE offers up a bag

Maybe? :manny:

Pillman Played The Bat shyt Crazy “I’ll Do What I Want” Thing To Perfection So It Made Sense

Suit Wearing Cody Saying “I Love You Guys” On The Way Out Is Not Interesting At All lol

If it was a work AEW would be risking its credibility with media outlets like ESPN so that's the main reason why I don't see it being the case.

USA network loves shytty WWE reality shows so CAWdy and Brandy can just take they trash show over there.

All of this requires full cooperation from Tony Khan and AEW, who win absolutely NOTHING by making this a work as there is no big angle, no return, no swerve and certainly no payoff to working people over this departure. A work would only serve Cody's ego and I have a hard time believing TK is this fukking stupid to even put the reputation of a charity on the line just so Cody can get a "TV moment" and a big pop on a random Dynamite :pachaha:

i definitely do believe he could be  and it could be TK's belief that it would get over as the BIGGEST SWERVE OF ALL and be a great work shoot.

Again, im saying "i could be wrong" for insurance purposes, but I think this is a work, straight up

I'm not even mad at Cody for this. He has enough sense to know that you need storylines and character work in this business. He may be annoying at times, but he's the only high level one in the company that understood that.

That straight up indy workrate wrestling gets old real fast If that's all you have to offer That company ain't growing beyond where they are with how they move. Say what you wanna say about the man, but he made himself a star. Might as well get that paper while it's there :yeshrug:

I think a lot of people can't fathom that Cody burned a lot of bridges, but Brandi was tryhard trash, and he piggybacked off the Elite for Arn as a manager and HHH homages.

The whole Nightmare Factory is in shambles lmaoooooo

I believe this is a work orchestrated by Tony Khan, Cody, Brandi, Goldust, TBS/TNT, and is a storyline in season 2 of their reality show. He will 'leave' aew and might even show up in NWA, just to come back to AEW and expect to get a heroes return. - Ed MOTHERfukkING G
