Only thing AEW really needed him for was the "face" to work with celebs and shyt, be the clean face to put on shows and do news rounds.

I'm just going to quite myself here, right quick:

This all really seems to come down to Cody and Brandi being massive marks for themselves and overplaying their hands badly. I'm taking all reports of Cody going to WWE with a grain of salt until he shows up on their TV, but I can't imagine a dumber and more ass-backwards decision for him to make. Yeah, he might get more money, but that's it. Vince does not like to be shown up, and now he has Cody working for him again? He's never been someone Vince ever wanted to push, so he might be treated like a somebody for a few months, but he'll be right back to his midcard slot soon enough. So Cody will be well-paid, but unhappy with no means of influencing his situation. Hope he's happy with that.
