My friend and I have been debating this for some time. He says Clipse, I say Jay.

I always thought they threw little friendly competition shots at one another, like on 'Thank You' (crazy coke bars btw) where Jay says "after the ruger shoots through a few clips, you could lay in your casket just as you is, we appreciate the target practices, we'll be sure to send flower baskets kid'

If I'm correct this was around the time Clipse released 'Til The Casket Drops'

Am i buggin?? :troll:

Anywho, Jay-Z or Clipse (either Push or Malice) for coke rap king?

Jay is better, but he's got so much more that his coke shyt gets "lost".
I mean joints like Can I Live, Dead Presidents etc are songs from a drug dealer more than songs about drug dealing. While Clipse rapped about dealing drugs on 80% of their songs.

So it's really hard to say, I mean if we talking about songs focused on dealing drugs I got to go with The Clipse. If it's generally speaking about the thoughts of a coke deal it's jigga. If we talking about peak as in like top 5 coke rap joints, it's Jigga as well.

Malice is basically introspective Hov :to:
Pusha-T is flashy is basically punchline Hov :win:

Jay-Z is just Jay-Z breh :salute:

+ His verse on "I'm Not You" are examples why Malice > Pusha T

:mindblown:

I agree Jay gave them their style, but Push and Mal go a little further then Jay ever did, darker, uglier with it....I love Jay, but he kinda lost a lot of his edge with that particular subject like 10 years ago, I like 'American Gangster', but it was forced, for the most part.

:ohhh:

well put. I'm even more excited to hear how Clipse will sound now, since No Malice seems as if he's gonna tap into almost the exact opposite subject matter than before. On some good cop bad cop shyt :skip:
