Why does it always take these players losing everything and hitting rock bottom to want to finally take their career seriously? Should have had that mindset from day one.

Because they didn't have passion for the game. It just came easy to him. Once he got to the NFL, he reached his goal and didn't care anymore. Now, he is broke, got no money and got nothing to do. No job prospectus. He was like f* it. I got no other choice now. I can't live like a hobo from the block, I can do much better for myself. Vick was the same way.

I imagine it could. Whenever you sip lean your are consuming a lot of empty calories and sugar, mostly from the sprite. Add on to the fact, that you're probably not living a healthy lifestyle if your are sipping purple drank; weight gain would be inevitable.

At that rate, it would take him 30 weeks just to get down to his playing weight, which was overweight to begin with.
