Colbert asked Ta-Nehisi Coates if he has hope for America. Coates said no.

This new "criticism" talking point you're now injecting into the convo is just a red-herring. If a person said I don't like ice cream because its too cold vs a person who said I don't like ice cream because it taste too bitter, no one outside of insane asylum would say that those two statements are logically the same thing because they can be classified as a form of criticism. So no matter how you try spin it, I didn't claim the things you keep lying that I claimed. Jeez, now I know why people on this site call you fakkit.

Lets go to the tape: http://www.thecoli.com/posts/26600650/ :letmesee:

Coates is just beyond boring to me. Sure, I have issues with him. For instances, I don't care for his inflammatory and hyperbolic rhetorical style, I find him to be intellectual dishonest, and I find his avoidance of people who most effectively criticize his work(Ex. Glenn Loury and John McWhorter) to be bothersome. But the thing that makes him so boring and useless to me is that he's simply just another person who cries non-stop about wypipo being the cause of all black suffering in this county, even up to the present day, yet -- from what I can tell -- he has ZERO and I mean ZERO interest in achieving some form of separation from whites or removal of whites.

You must be aware that this is an individual who literally argued in a debate that attempts to reduce black inner city violence is a waste of effort because black people have been so brutalized by American society(white people) that it's inevitable they will turn to violence. And yet again, despite holding such sensational positions, he doesn't advocate for solutions that deal with the wypipo problem like race based separation/decentralization within America or a black exodus out of America, which he has now proclaimed that he has no hope for. Really nikka? You have zero hope that whites will change their behavior but you're still going to continue sharing a society with them when you have the option not to. Yeah, i'm sorry, but this blatant inconsistency in logic smells like another piece of shyt using black grievances as a hustle.

For some reason, I think cacs will do whatever is necessary to make sure that doesn't happen though. They know there's too much to lose. Especially nowadays.

It's definitely coming. We're due :yeshrug:

It doesn't matter what they do at this point :yeshrug:

Once the usa goes down, that's it for western dominance. The future is a bigger, more isolationist, multi-polar.... very cold place...

However some will try to stop the fall, some don't care, and some are actively aiding in the fall.

I'll make a recommendation if you ever get free time and feel like reading something.

Sir Glubb's The Fate of Empires.. you can find the pdf on google. Wish I could find the book since it's missing the second half. But shyt is oop.

Coates is a good writer, well studied but he isn't on par with his idols (Frantz Fanon, W.E.B. Dubois, James Baldwin) and the fact the White establishment has embraced him with open arms is clear as day that his message is safe not radical.

That said, its fairly obvious the USA will never reckon with its origins and thus will ultimately lead to its demise. Its inevitable. Coates isn't the 1st to say, Black folks been saying this....shyt the crazy crackheads on the corner with a bible been saying this lol.

He kind of addressed that in this interview tho...

Reparations is not a solution?

He's pro reparations? Does he even believe that it's possible? He seems pessimistic. I'm basing my views on nothing but his book. He doesn't mention reparations if I'm not mistaken. He paints a very bleek, hopeless picture.

He is good at diagnosing the problem. But to be honest, you'd have to have lived under a rock if you need Ta-Nehisi to explain that to you.

His conclusion seems to be that there is very little that can be done to reverse the course and improve the conditions of black ppl. What's the purpose of diagnosing a problem that cannot be solved?

Doctors have plenty of untreated diagonses.
