She's not ugly tho

Yeah i saw this on FB, and people were clowning her and I thought she looked cute :yeshrug:. She has clear skin, full lips, nice, eyes, and I see some bone structure. If she just trimmed her to make an even cute Cesar cut, cut off the rest of her relaxer, or did a twist out it would really bring out her face. Some will disagree but it's my opinion :yeshrug:

Yes it is natural hair but one of the flaws I have found in the natural hair movement is usually the hairstyles that are considered acceptable are the ones that closely mimic mixed chics natural hair. You notice how you talked about using shea moisture to get it curly? Why is that? Why not dry and nappy like it naturally is?

But why would we not like it is the underlying issue.

come on, man. aren't you a hair stylist? no one wants to come out looking all unkempt. not to mention black hair would dread up if it went completely unstyled. even cacs style their hair, they don't just hop out the bed and head out on the streets.

I brought up curly cause that's what the women in the photos had.

Maybe we got different definitions of what dry is. Why would you want dry hair. Lord bless your heart

Well you have to give the short and damaged hair time to get healthy

Short does not equal damaged. I have seen plenty of young ladies with long her that is damaged, but they are trying to hold on for dear life. I knew a young lady with thin long hair. She should just cut off all of her hair and regrow it. You could literally see her scalp because her hair was so thin. My mother has short natural hair and it is healthy. She dies it auburn/brown and has no interest in growing it out even though she can.

i had been semi natural [light relaxed like once a year just to knock my roots down some] for years and years.
more than 15. finally just decided not to even do that, just trimmed every month and kept it going till no chemical growth left.
i recently semi big chopped again to cut all the color out of my hair.
i always loved my hair being big and curly and not having to press or flat iron or set it.

my older daughter also just decided a couple years ago and just kept cutting relaxer out.

kudos to you for supporting your girl and her friends in their natural journey.
I really believe theres no more beautiful look.

I've been back and forth between natural and relaxer to try different looks and finally cut it off at 14. I remember being told that I was stupid by many people, especially women for cutting my hair. I remember my cousin telling me that I would regret it. A year later after she saw how much my hair had grown she asked me how I did it. :shaq2:. I did another big chop again last year to grow it back healthy. Right before I lock my hair this summer (I planned to do it during winter break, but I want to learn as much as I can about locking hair) I'm probably cutting off 2 inches.

I'm gonna go to the African hair branders soon. Let me hair rest some. I have super tight curls and a bad habit of pulling through my hair during the day.

I'm being an antagonist. You're pubes comment was very racist. It shouldn't take shea moisture or activator for you to think natural hair is ok.

I wouldn't want dry hair. I'm just sayin, if I wouldn't be comfortable with my hair without added products, do I really like my natural hair?:jbhmm:
