A lot of people go through life unfulfilled
That’s why I subscribe to a stoic mindset. There are so many things outside of our control, like the loss of loved ones and the inevitability of our own death, but what we do have a firm control of is how we confront and deal with these things.
It’s true a lot of this is exacerbated by media and internet, but honestly, people are fukking pussies nowadays too. Our grandfathers fought in major wars that saw major battles spanning half the globe, but now we can’t even take a piss standing up without considering whether it’s hurtful to others in some way. Just hundreds of years ago - a tiny grain in the sands of time - entire bloodlines ended, people were routinely raped and killed l, and systematic oppression existed on a scale almost incomprehensible to us.
I can’t even fathom taking this internet stuff so seriously. Ride a fukking bike, phone a loved one you haven’t spoken to in a while, draw a picture, write a fukking poem…thirst trapping and showing off wealth doesn’t last forever. Leave a legacy you can be proud of, even if it is instilling the principles you held so dear and equipping the future generations with the tools to succeed. Plant a fukking a tree or something, I don’t know.
I guess what I’m trying to say is just take a step back and live life. Take in all the sights and smells, marvel at the simplicity of things, the interconnected whole, and the beauty of just simply being.
