I'm not sure how the public still is getting Cole wrong...

Cole is actual friends with both Drake and Kendrick

Kendrick has his verse on "Like That"

Cole hears the verse and feels he can respond on some sparring shyt

Cole sees/hears that Drake is having none of the friendly sparring approach

Cole talks to Kendrick and once again sees/hears that it will be nothing "friendly' coming from him

He apologizes not because he is scared, but because he sees exactly where this is headed

To me this is a classic case of a nikka caught in the middle, trying not to pick a side because he genuinely fukk with both of them.

Schooling people takes forever; don't bother
people forgot how to act black because they didn't get immersed in the black experience growing up, got snapped on, or had black mothers in the first place

if you want to act standoffish and be lily white, then fine, be that way, we don't claim you...go watch some female white comedian tank with some PC jokes as your entertainment or something :mjtf:

bring back the 3 tiered race system, fukk it, there's proud black people and there's people acting white pretending to be better and reaching to higher societies like OJ while dabbling in the halfway house using the multitude of racial privilege when convenient because they themselves are ambiguously biracial, just to have it crashing down when people finally realize who the chameleon really is inside...drake pretends to be black, white, jewish, creole, jamaican, you name it -- a white thought pattern grifting black music with a black skin as moreless a tan, but that's it

the beef is not entertaining to some folks because drake and cole are cornballs, and rick ross is bringing the blackness that some folks are ashamed of because they themselves are in the halfway division of racial privilege and forgot how to laugh because they themselves are flip flopping and having some type of malfunction internal identity crisis war with their brain fried of having mixed backgrounds themselves, call it as it is

people don't have a sense of humor or isn't secure with what side they really stand on, double dipping or playing both sides until the clear winner is announced, or whine and complain about the lack of referees or rules to rap beef, trying to call it off early because their idols who represent them are revealing who they really are as a reflection of themselves, and it's really showing :mjpls:

if drake severed ties from paying jas prince, j prince wont save him this time, that boy is on his own to figure it out the hard way with his yesmen and ghostwriters, half of which don't even understand the depths of american humor or culture to just speak about their canadian experiences or bubbled existence to even know how being an impoverished 2nd class citizen even feels like outside of 'the hood' having some 'cool aesthetic'

and lmao @ these white youtubers using thecoli's own :troll:j prince tape recording as part of documenting the history of this beef:laff:

ā€œMaturity is choosing peace over chaosā€

Hip hop is all just pretty much a bunch of actual and mental 15-23 year olds so that sort of thinking for them isn’t even really conceivable yet…at least not out the gate. It takes for the chaos to spiral into something terrible, or in this case something corny af, for them to kinda sorta come around…for a few days, šŸ˜‚šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø. Cole was right, said it since Day 1. These aren’t URL battlers, lol, these are multi-millionaires bickering about goofy stuff via rhymes…yall think it’s one thing but it ain’t that. ā€œThey’re competing to see who is the best rapper!!!!! Come on Cole!!ā€ Smh, yall hilarious
Yer, Ghandi chose that route and got 500k of his people lit up...

Let’s be reality.
Cole wasn’t apologizing for anything he said.
He was apologizing for aligning himself with a bytch ass Muthafukka.
If you can’t see that by now I don’t even know what to tell you.

Cole definitely could've gone about it another way and realized before he added it to this project, but I believe that he realizes in the grand scheme of things that none of this beef shyt really matters, especially when it's going to be love if and when all parties involved see one another in real life. No point in being disrespectful if you don't actually have a real problem that needs to be addressed.

I'm a fan of all of these guys, but it is the one gripe I've had about Kendrick since "Control" that seems to get glossed over; when that verse happened, people hit him up AND saw him in real life to see if there was actually any substance to what he was saying. In the interviews, Drake mentions that he saw Kendrick after that and everything was friendly. Cole called Kendrick and everything was friendly....so every time this situation comes up, there's no pressing issue that needs to be addressed but there's disrespect on wax.

People keep confusing the idea of sparring for the sport of hip-hop with beef & diss tracks.

If you're trying to spar with bars, you all get on the same beat, go in with your hardest verse, and let the public decide who bodied it.

Beef & diss tracks are for people with real business/personal relationships & real problems. That's how you get a "No Vaseline" or a "Takeover" vs "Ether", etc.

This is how I look at it. Cole realized shyt was more serious than he thought and fell back. He's the only one who doesn't have an issue with any of the people involved.

All the sudden when there's starting to be doubt if Kendrick is going to respond, Cole is right

Cole was not going to be out here snapping on people like wild n out and talking about how his mansion is better then some other guy. Nothing about him says he’d do that. And now you got people at home making fake diss track fooling people. Why should he entertain this?
None of this happened until AFTER he backed out, so I don't get your point

Let’s it keep it real…this is the most interesting thing to happen in hip hop in awhile…it’s been dry prior to all the fukkery and bs.

I’m just here for the diss tracks and entertainment. J Cole had the right intentions but he still ducked the fade from Kendrick.
Exactly. I’ll take corny memes and some songs over the bullshyt that was going on. So tired of all this bullshyt music and negativity over the years from rap music. I don’t care what these nikkas talking about, as long as there is lyricism involved. And we already got music from it. nikkas not really hip hop fans .
