I wanted to do a bit over a thousand to cover some expenses and jumpstart my career as an online freelancer/entrepreneur. The minimum is 3000.
The bank associate who walked me through it was a cool breh and explained everything.

Hopefully it gets approved. I just want hear some wisdom from y'all.
Do you have a 401k if not what's the interest rate?

Forget terms of the loan and all that stuff.
Nobody has asked the important question, what exactly do you plan to do as an online “freelancer” to make money?

Man for that low of funds I wouldn't do it. Life happens, and if you get hurt or lose your job paying back a stack can be tough. I don't know your situation but I would ask a family member or close friend first if you have the means. Try to get them to loan for free, but you could always offer some type of interest or maybe some type of % stake in your future company.

Do you breh but if you fumble you're gonna look back and say "my credit got deaded for $1000" :bryan:

Edit: If you do go the family route have a clear presentation and proposal. I'd suggest your start up plans, expected revenue both gross & net, potential to go public if you ever take off, and your 5 yea plan to them.
I can't do family, I love them but they can be janky.

A lot of posters in here truly don't know wtf they're talking about. Good for you OP. Be responsible and pay it back. Don't open any other loans or credit unless an emergency.

bad move, for the most part, your business should be able to generate some revenue without a loan. you've never heard of fiverr? that site is where you become a freelancer and people hire you for small jobs.

I got a 4k loan back when my credit was 720. shyt was sweet until I lost my job with 1200 left to pay. Before I knew it I was a slave only paying the minimum until I could no longer afford the minimum along with the minimums on 3 credit cards

Long story short. A 499 credit score with a dismissed bankruptcy. Got a great paying job although it came too late.

This!!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s exactly what fukks most people up in this world, it isn’t the debt, it’s when you lose a job and can’t get one for months until after your credit is fukked!!

That happened to me twice and is still happening to me now even with a job.

That’s why I don’t even care anymore about any of this shyt. You wanna do the right thing, then you gotta deal with the bullshyt when no one wants to hire you.

As soon as I get a full time and transition into entrepreneurship, no. I've always done part time, that's my problem

Why can’t you do full time now? Or get two part time jobs? I think you should save breh, 1k is nothing, your a single, young able bodied breh. I would have advised against this for that reason. I remember summers during undergrad saving that amount and more working a minimum wage full time job. I’m not sure what your financial situation is, but I can’t understand why you aren’t able to save this amount on your own.

All my funds are low. Some of it is my fault, some of it are factors that had no control of like car repair and low hours.
I'll pay it if asap, not tryin to flex or act a fool in anyway.

Good luck breh. I hope that it helps you where you need it, and congrats on taking the leap into freelancing.
Thanks, it was last minute action. I actually appreciate the cautionary tale and the negative possibilities people are bringing up. I have to do this. I'm not selling sex
