Cut all ties with your current crew. Chances are in the next few years, many will make bad choices and end up stagnant in life. I don't mean disappear from them, but I do mean distance yourself and don't hang with em like that anymore. Meet as many people as soon as possible. Go to every social function you can. In college your name means a lot, if many ppl know your name or of you, you will have a much easier time.

Don't get into any serious relationships the first two years of college. Smash as many as possible, develop your game, focus on becoming independent and make solid grades. IF you make great grades your first two years, the last few you can ease up a bit.

Stay in tip top shape, the amount of oppurtuniteis that will arrive from being in shape from friends, to networking, to women, to self-esteem are limitless.

GO TO CLASS! huge one, even when u dont feel like it just showing up will help tremendously.

Sit in the first row! If your having trouble in a class, you will be much more recognizable if your in the front.

Integrate your social circle as much as possible. It's easy to be selfish and meeting people and adding to your contact list. But going out of your ways to link ppl together will bring plenty of women to your location as you will be seen as a leader and popular.

Make hella mistakes, for real this one is the most important. Make mistakes bruh, cheat on your girl, spend too much, trust people only to be betrayed...etc. It will give you tons of life experience and open your eyes to how people work.

Only be in your room to sleep. Only be in your crib to eat and hang with friends.

Befriend nerds, I swear some of the coolest ppl i've met are the non-social type nerdy type of ppl. Their social circle won't be as large and hey will be more loyal than any others.

Don't go home often. Learn to master 5 meals.

@Music Fiend wow that's a lot of real shyt. I gotta reread that a few times.

What's your opinion on good majors and ones that would waste my time?

Also I'm going to have my first 2 years be at a community college and follow up with university.

Does your advice still apply?

Good major depend totally on you bruh. I know people who had bs majors who turned out well, some with great majors who just graduated and couldn't even land a job.I'd say if you aren't into the medical field or science, look into engineering. Be honest with yourself on how long you want to be in school too. Some majors are pointless unless your gonna get that masters.

Community college is cool too, the best advice is you better get a 4.0 or as close as possible. A lot of ppl think they are doing the right thing going to CC only to half ass the work and end up in a position where they can't transfer where they want.

I will say this tho, if going to CC, get a job and get out of your parents crib ASAP.

Mos of this is common sense, but requires effort to stay on top of.

  • Stay friends with the ones you have in HS, but don't let them dictate your life. Your in college, where you begin to build your rep.
  • Pick a degree that has meaning; IT, Math, Medicine, Architecture, Etc ... because the US is a Service economy. shyt Liberal Arts will fukk up your life forever, because no one knows what the fukk it can get you. A Art degree as well.
  • Its ok to have a girlfriend, but don't commit to marriage anytime soon. You will have a student loan to pay off first.
  • Don't be ashamed to feel on a budget
  • College aint like the movies, sure there is the ocassional party, but a ton of people are there to study because they have a huge debt to pay off 6 months after they leave.
  • Get a apprenticeship, intern job for your major of study as soon as possible.
  • Have fun

Right on brotha. To add to one of those points, don't be fooled by the fear of missing out. Social media is huge in college, and being on their too much you will get deluded into thinking things are popping off at all times that you need to go to. Pretty soon you'll find yourself studying on a Friday night for a test on Monday and not being able to focus or feel like a loser because you should be out there.

You're gonna miss out on a lot either way, but make sure you take care of priorities first that way when you do party, there's no stress.

:smugfavre: I can recount to how much "fun" partys are when you have to be the designated driver. fukk that shyt, you know they will throw up. Not to mention the stench of your car in the summer from vomit. So yeah, no driving those a$$holes.

Not to mention. Alot of people go in and out of your life in the end. College is no different. Most people have 1-5 True friends, and the rest they know. Facebook will cover that shyt.

I would say though if he sex, wear a RUBBER. You don't want children fukking up your long term plans. Harsh, but it's reality.

Also too, BE very careful and get a vaccination for meningitis. It's rare, but it's one of dem serious diseases that feels like the flu but can kill in 24 hours, and it CANNOT be detected unless they do a SPINAL TAP :merchant: even then if you survive you will probably lose a limb or more.

Make sure you make all the tough decisions early. Go to college. Study something that you are interested in, but can also excel in and make money from in the future. If you are working a job, make sure you hold it down for years and dont jump from place to place.

If you bypass or cut corners on alot of that, it will bite you in the ass when you are 25+

The first two years = Alot
After = They slowly begin to drift. If you are not doing it to them, they are doing it to you.

Just because they are living their own lives. High School was just four fun years. You will have some strong connections with a few, but most will begin to be a occasional hello but nothing else unless catching up.

All the time. I tell you the truth because I hung out with the homies. Guess what? Half of em are doing worse than me now at 22 years old or have vanished into their own new circles. Some have kids, some got arrested like me, some got into relationships and changed, some were smart and hung with the homies once in a blue and moved on into a new life with new possibilities.

You don't wanna be me bruh. Friendships are relationships too, once you move on it's best to put them behind you. On a rare occasion you may have 1-3 that you can really vibe with that live close or go to close colleges. Keep those going.
