This is a poor investment of money friend. Real ballers move in silence. One of my clients owns a chain of luxury food stores, dude makes well over 4 million a year, he drives a 2001 Honda Accord. Even if you wanted a nice newer car, you would arguably be better off looking at Audi, BMW, Lexus, Infiniti, or even a Porsche, a Bentley could put you in the poorhouse on maintenence alone.

@feelosofer why do you feel this way regarding real ballers moving in silence when they are the ones keeping luxury lines esp bigger ones like Bentley in business. I'm not trying to be funny either "stunters" ain't keeping these companies in business at all and we all know that. shyt I have only saw like a handful of local d boys in a Bentley or something on that level.

because i've seen countless young black folk bury themselves in vanity. most of those buyers in super luxury run in small circles, its a scam. Thats another story.

Ok thanks for answering and its true that some bury themselves in luxury. I just don't like how some black folks do the whole Kanye "white folks get money and don't spend it"shyt it just annoys me. I do see what your saying though.

You can disagree all you want sir that's your freedom but until you tell me how high end luxury like Rolls, Ferrari, etc stay in business ill continue to believe what I believe and you are free to believe the same. Also I never said that rich cats didn't drive them cars at all and if I did show me where I said that. I said that the majority didn't and I stand by that. For every dude you mentioned we can name 2/3 people that aren't doing that so that's why I don't know people like to focus on things that clearly aren't the norm for the majority in that certain group. Now if we talking about millionaires next door types yeah maybe more of them doing that but most billionaires ten millionaires driving just pos isn't realistic looking at real life.

Bruh you acting like these are mass produced vehicles, the Rolls Royce dealership in my city may only sell one or two cars a month, and that's all they need to sell to stay viable as a business. They only have like 1 full time sales man. And the commission on those 1-2 cars alone may be enough for him to eat and make a good living just off a few people a month buying those.

That's what I was thinking but didn't type. I went to private school from elementary to high school graduation, so I was around some kids who had much more than I did growing up. I'm talking houses in upscale neighborhoods and summer houses near the beach. While I grew up on the other side of the tracks, so I got to live in both worlds and gain some perspective. And never did I see the amount of stunting from these families that I did/do amongst young black men around my age.

Tell me why I can go into a working class black neighborhood and I see just as many Audis and BMWs as I do in an upper middle class neighborhood. Because too of us be on that "well, I can afford it" level instead of trying to come up on real tangibles.

Like another poster said, many people buy things like collectibles, art, commercial buildings with their money because they appreciate. I like cars too, but cars are not a true measure of "real money." Anybody with a half way decent credit score and a job can leave the lot with a luxury vehicle.

Of course not everyone follows the conservative blueprint and some people have a much flossier lifestyle. But that does not negate the fact that many more do not and have just as much, if not more, money in their pockets.

Peace

You already know fam. My parents really didn't have the same type of money as the people I grew up around in my neighborhood. No where near it actually. But my Dad is a super spend thrift. He bought the condo I grew up in on a foreclosure tip, we lived in a shytty apartment for a few years until he found the right deal to pull the trigger on, then it took him another year to fix it up. And even to this day he only buys floor model appliances and furniture from the scratch and dent warehouse, and his spot is still nice, he got the same shyt everybody else got, he just paid a lot less for it. And he uses coupons for everything. Like growing up he never bought food that I wanted to eat, he just bought shyt that had a coupon for it. If it wasn't a coupon for it or if it wasn't on sale then he wouldn't buy it. The cashiers at Publix hate to see him in the line because they know he gonna have a fistful of coupons and he will use every last one of them. And dont let there be an issue with a price on something being wrong or not as advertised, because he will ask to speak to the manager over a 50 cent discrepancy. No bullshyt. I used to hate going to the store with him when I was kid, but now as an adult I totally understand why he did it.

And you can be a penny pincher and still stunt. I like nice shyt as much as the next nikka, but its a smarter way to do things. Patience is key. I got a closet full of Nikes, but I haven't paid full price for about 3/4 of them. nikka when I want a new pair of shoes I just lurk on Craigslist around the end of the month to the first of month and wait for nikka who over extended himself to sell his shyt for the low. Like those Jordan 1 Breds that came out a few months back, I caught a nikka selling a dead stock Jordan 1 DMP pack with the Breds and the Celtics 1's from '09 for $200. I kept the Breds for myself and I turned around and sold the Celtics and the double box for $250. So I basically made $50 on some shoes nikkas is paying $300 for right now. I literally just made this play a week ago. Yeah they not the 2013 release, but its the same fukking shoe. And shyt like this selvage denim trend that nikkas is on right now, I am not ashamed to say that I cop used jeans. Why buy a pair of Nudies or APC's for $200 that you gotta break in for 12-18 months when you can just buy some already broken in Nudies off eBay for $75?. I give a fukk if a nikka laugh at me, I got 0's in my bank account and I stay fresher than most nikkas who spend 2-3 times what I do on clothes. The only pair of Nikes I have payed full price for in the last year were those Flyknit Lunar 1's, and thats just cuz I had to have them.

Bruh you acting like you don't understand simple mathematics lol. The point is how some of y'all like to talk like the majority of millionaires/billionaires are pushing the same car a regular working Joe is pushing and that isn't real. Even if they only sold one two cars a month which you are right about my point is if most people with means weren't buying these cars they would still go out of business. That's all I'm saying when people act like all these people with means are driving regular cars esp if they are younger with money

Regarding first bold you can have money and actually stunt too but oftentimes esp when its somebody black its the default they are spending above their means and we as a whole need to look at that in ourselves. If this isn't you ok Im not talking about you then just see too often and don't like it. Not this situation that the thread is based on but in general because we know his situation and make opinions from our own takes of life.

Regarding second bold how would a dude laugh at you unless they know you personally unless there is someway to tell your jeans are used? I'm being serious because I know nothing about that used jean life. If I buy some I'm buying them from the store straight up and down no shade at all just isn't my twist as far as that goes. Also hypothetically what happens if the person that makes fun of you got 0's in their account too. It happens but I'm just bullshytting with that because you made it seem like you would always have the financial upper hand and every now we know that's not true. If its cats that aren't your friends (and even if it is) doing it anyway fukk em regardless of money situation. Anyway thanks for your replies.

I don't remember saying that most millionaires do push basic cars. I just said a lot more do than most people realize and I gave a few examples of what I have seen. But I will say that people with means equate things like artwork, traveling, and location of their house with being well off moreso than they do a car. Like the Buick Enclave is popular as hell among white soccer moms with money right now. I see those blue hairs driving them in Buckhead all the time. You think them chicks dropping they kids off at a private school that costs 35K a year and going home to a crib thats worth 1.2 cant afford a Bentley? Or shyt even a Range HSE? My whole point was that white people look at that shyt totally different than we do.

Dude I was only sharing what I do. That statement had nothing to do with situation. To be honest I take pride in it. Bargain hunting is like a game to me. It makes me happy to pay less than cost for something. I'm like an Asian dude my boy, I will negotiate just for the hell of it. That shyt is a competition to me.

Think about it like this. If you have $5 million dollars why would you buy a $4 million house knowing the upkeep and maintenance alone is going to cost you in the tens upwards of hundreds of thousands a year, including taxes? Yes, a house is usually an appreciating asset, depending on the market and the location of the house. But if you don't have a constant stream of income or revenue that will let you recoup that $4 million you just dropped, you lost money. But hood folks and broke folks don't think like this.

It's like money in their hands, liquid, is a problem and they can't wait to give it back to where it came from. Smart people invest and let their money MAKE money. Once you get money enough to live comfortably and not have to worry about going back to broke, clock in 9-5, then dropping $50K will be nothing for a car. But if that is ALL you have liquid, which most likely it is in ole boy's case, it just doesn't make good financial sense to drop that kind of cash on something just so you can look good to other people.

Why even put such when nobody even me never said anything about nobody with means pushing regular cars? I just said its not as many people as y'all like to think unless we talking about millionaire next doer types which its nothing wrong with at all. I also don't like the "White" people stuff that just reeks of some dikkeater low self esteem stuff I'm sorry but it just does to me. Its people regardless of race that think a certain way because if that's true you are black I'm assuming and you think like "white" people no? That's why I don't like that stuff but I know you are generalizing and that's why I don't take it like you have low self esteem just don't like the message it gives off.

Do what you do I was just responding to something you put out there nothing more nothing less. Its a good book that had a section about people and always looking for cheaper deals. Its called the millionaire fastlane and if you get a chance you should read it I think you would like it.

Of course if you had 5 million why buy a 4 mill house but a 50k car is something different. I also feel some people in this discussion say look good for others when you are trying to do the same thing to another group IMO. If you have the means and that's IF live however you want to. I can agree buying the Bentley isn't the best thing in certain situations (even op) but if you can afford it and all the cost with it why not? Yes it could be spent elsewhere but if you only make that mistake you'll be just fine if you keep on your upward trend. Now making mistakes over and over I can agree that will mess you up but one regular non fatal mistake you'll be ok more often than not.

Again I thank all of y'all for answering even if we disagree on certain things.

What does he spend his money on then? I get investing and all of that but I don't see the point in make 4 m's and not driving a nice car. I'm not even materialistic but that seems like some pseudo humble sh1t to me.

Rainy days, for the most part. He buys properties in down economies, he actually put me on game, plus he's got kids plus the food game is fickle, so I mean you can take it on an individualistic basis. I just think that we (Blacks in general) need to perhaps rethink how we use our spending power as a collective.

Real ballers have assets to cover their liabilities. I wouldn't stunt at all i would just try to build wealth.
