Update: At 5:07pm, Tyler Pager has published this follow up. Don't love the "Jewish leaders denounce" framing--I imagine (and hope) that many people and groups denounced it as well--but credit to the Times for covering Trump's antisemitic slur. Better late than never.

Trump has always slurred Jews & trafficked in hostile stereotypes. Antisemitism, a factor of his upbringing, is baked in the cake & fighting it is a ruse "his" Roy Cohn would have loved. If he could, T would happily "repatriate" troublesome American Jews to their presumed homeland w Bibi's blessing.

The GOP position seems to be that everything is antisemitism except actual antisemitism, which is totally fine. Feels a lot like their stance on pedophilia.

Trump has been an antisemite in private for decades & in public at least since his 2015 RJC speech:
After phone calls with Jewish lawmakers, Trump has muttered that Jews “are only in it for themselves” and “stick together” in an ethnic allegiance that exceeds other loyalties

Maybe they should've reported on the speech using a racist eugenicist they've granted anonymity as their source (I'm guessing Judith Miller and "Curveball" weren't presently available).

Trump told the audience yesterday that he hates all Democrats. That’s what the NYT considers a victory lap. A few weeks after one of his monstrous MAGA followers hunted down and murdered Democrats in Minnesota. Inhuman.

I suspect they’ll just repeat his 6000 lies today, but clean them up first.
