Not a terrible difference between a 9mm and a .40 cal (loosely referred to as a 10mm). Most law enforcement upgraded to .40 cal over the last 10 years. Larger round and similar magazine capacity to boot.

With that being said, I used to carry a Glock 19 9mm, however, I let my conceal carry permit expire.

IMO It's all about revolvers. When shyt jumps off their isn't time to take off safety and cock guns back and worry about picking up shell casings. That's why I carry revolvers. I carry my Taurus 605 (which is a 357 Magnum) it fit right in my pocket and has more stopping power then 9mm and a glock 40. But that's just my opinion...they don't jam, they much faster in a bang out and they less messy. nikkas always talk avout carrying capacity but they released a statistics stating 80% of gun fights happen at 3 feet or closer...if you cant get a jigga up outta there in 6 shots or less, you deserve some sleep.

I'm buying my first gun legally owned gun soon, probably getting a revolver

I don't carry anymore like that. I learned to shoot with a SW99 (S&W and Walther variant P99) when I was younger. It was one of my dad's guns and when I got older, he gave it to me when I was 14. Only gun I owned, second gun I shot, was the gun I learned to really shoot with but had a few when I was more prone to bullshyt growing up. Its still a sexy ass gun.:ehh:

Why did you let it expire, do you feel like you don't need it since you never had to use it?

Law enforcement is going back to 9mm due to bullet tech getting much better expansion from them now. More research has been put into getting better performance from the 9 than the 40 due to cost, availability, and recoil management. 40 is still more fun to shoot and will be easier to find whenever panics hit however.

Yes and no. I bought my gun around the time that ammo went short so going to practice became a pain in the ass. That and it's an expensive hobby. But you are right, I never had to use it plus it's a pain in the ass. Tough to go to the bar to have a drink, etc.
