but he's not the first person to say that either. this is an ideology that's over 100 years old...this philosophy has been suppressed for decades now, but the notion of black people being INDIVIDUALLY self sufficient and therefore making the COMMUNITY self sufficient and not having to rely on ANYBODY FOR ANYTHING both have elements of conservatism and nationalism

"But the government created and promoted white supremacist policies that destroyed our communities, so it's their job to fix the mess they made."

My older cousin is a throat surgeon and was at Johns Hopkins at the same time that Carson was doing his residency there. They were pretty much the only two black med students at the time. Since I was a kid, and the Gifted Hands book was fairly new, my cousin has always talked about how Carson would always go out of his way to shyt on him and disassociate himself from him. He said he always thought Carson was pissed that he wasn't the only black person in the program.

He also said alot of the stuff he put in Gifted Hands is either extremely exaggerated, or complete bullshyt. When people bring up Carson's name to him he gets absolutely furious.

bruh i'm very much so aware of these quotes, but unlike most foot shuffling black ameri-c00ns, I can separate my emotions from my politics:

- I do agree with what he said about the black lives matter movement

- I think southerners SHOULD waive their flag, JUST LIKE WE NEED TO BE WAIVING OUR RED BLACK AND GREEN FLAG. PUT THAT shyt ON THE FRONT OF YOUR CARS AND PUT THE FLAG UP IN FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE. WEAR THE T-SHI---no...wait, they don't have red black and green J's though do they...we gotsta be matchin'! :comeon:

- we've discussed the obamacare situation already

- here is ben carsons full quote on reparations:
"I can understand the idea of reparations for the Japanese-American families who were unjustly interned during WWII. In that case, corrective action was taken at a time when many of the victims could actually benefit from it. In the case of slavery, however, there are neither slaves not slave owners currently living, so it seems unfair to require people who had nothing to do with slavery to pay for it. I understand the argument that the descendants of slave owners inherited property and large sums of money accumulated through slave labor, and are thus obligated to share the proceeds with the descendants of slaves. There is some legitimacy to such an argument, but no one can really quantify the percentage of assets derived from slave labor in order to distribute them. Furthermore, where do you draw the line for reparations in the past"

you don't have to AGREE with this - but separate your EMOTIONS from logic: this is an articulate well thought out argument - and not really a NEW argument. in fact NCOBRA was the national organization for reparations (when i was in college) and not even they could see eye to eye on how the money should be divided and among us for this very reason.

the problem people have with ben carson is very simple: he's a republican, and he doesn't think like he's "supposed" to as a black man...muthafukkas keep trying to come across as deep or intellectual when it all just really boils down to this..keep it 10x10 :yeshrug:

So you're saying you're a c00n? :jbhmm: The point is the purpose he is saying these things is to get in good with white Republicans. I mean the man though that AA helped him get into Yale, yet he wants to do away with it. That's the definition of a sellout

you really feel like his opinion on affirmative action affects your life in some way? :jbhmm:
these multiple statements made by ben carson are the reason why chicago is headed toward over 500 homicides by mostly black people this year? :jbhmm: (and just a reminder, there are only 365 days in a year)

ben carson's opinions and stances are the reason why black unemployment is double the national average right now? :jbhmm:

the man is simply running for president saying things to get elected...you can make the argument that his views CAN and MAY or MIGHT or ONE DAY POTENTIALLY affect people..but as of now, he's just talking.

I also find it amusing that the same nikkas that defend fake hip hop artists who promote crack dealing and murder with that usual "they just trying to eat fam! :to:" bullshyt will turn around and criticize ben carson for trying to obtain power for himself too...start thinking for yourselves.

His views on AA might affect my kids some day. Are you really comparing rappers to a position as the most powerful man in the world? Are you really comparing the entertainment industry in which utility is based on enjoyment while politics literally changes people's lives? Are you serious breh? It also sounds like you agree that he is marginalizing black plight in order to gain political clout with the white Right? Sounds like a c00n to me.

:mjlol: I don't give a fukk what you think of me, i'm a grown man i stopped caring about that shyt with AOL 4.0 and dial up internet

but yes, if we collectively as a culture give daps and props to black people who openly sell their own people down the river for WHITE PROFIT (ross, diddy, chief keef, etc etc..) why is ben carson different? is it because it's two different fields of public servitude (entertainment vs politicians)?

why is one c00ning and selling out, and the other is not?

he's also said he doesn't want to do away with affirmative action he just thinks it should be geared toward people based on their economic circumstances and not just race - as it stands now black people who come from well to do families can benefit from affirmative action - he's actually saying that POOR black people (and whites) should be more beneficiary...

you disagree with that? :manny:

y'all nikkas keep letting these headlines with these hot buzz words fool you like simpletons...don't fault me for not being a "regular" person :sas1:
but yall dudes know good and damn well ben carson isn't getting the nomination. stop it. come back to this post in 9 months and we'll see

Explain how Diddy and Ross are marginalizing black issues to be successful? I don't recall them pandering to white people in order to increase their sales. Especially Ross. Besides they are trying to sell records. Carson is trying to become the most powerful man in the world.

There are millions more poor whites than poor blacks. Statistics show that those poor whites STILL receive better educations than poor blacks. Eliminating race would make it pointless. Poor whites and poor blacks are not on a level playing field.

He's not getting the nomination, because is in a racist political party. People see how bad his tap dancing is. People see that he's an Uncle Tom. He is an award winning neurosurgeon that says that successive vaccines could be the cause of Autism without a single shred of scientific evidence. If that is not a sell out, then I don't know what is.

If you're black believe in post-racial America you're inherently a c00n.

what is this obsession you have with his policies? this is a thread about whether or not ben carson is a c00n/SELLOUT/NON-BLACK man

what's crazy is that if you go through my posts in this thread, I'm pretty much consistent with my statements, you're the one wanting to shoot the conversation in 3 and 4 different directions

i'm not voting for ben carson, but I don't see him as a c00n or a traitor to the black race - I haven't sold my soul to the democratic party, they don't own my thoughts and I don't view Obama as a deity or someone worthy of praise either. :yeshrug:
You should ask yourself this question: "why is a black man not even close to getting my vote . . . why is there not one policy proposal that I can support from a black man"

Once you ask yourself those questions you'll figure it out.

Well let's first establish something because you're wanting to turn this into some playground shyt - I think you're a yowza bossing simpleton for the Democratic Party and you think I'm a c00n - lets respect that and move on

- we know Ross hasn't sold dope and diddy hasn't signed or made a dime off positive black artists or a political message, same for snoop, jeezy etc etc...you can argue with me all day but this is a criticism that's been leveled at them before and is usually shot down as them just "gettin to that money!" Google it.

- not sure your point about affirmative action, I'm just saying that it's a lie to suggest that Ben Carson wants to completely do away with it.

- and I'm not sure what his medical opinions have to do with the black community and I'm done playing this game with you

you have to understand something: black liberals are human garbage. This lying, making shyt up, making false equivalences are snakish leftist tactics have gotten us where? You worthless and spineless negroes keep shytting on black conservatives and nationalists when black murder, broken up homes, anti-intellectualism is all on your watch. Even now all you have is name calling. Collectively your kind are the biggest traitors to our race that we've ever seen
