I normally say it about once a day..normally the last convo of the day, over the phone. Growing up, we never ever said it..but now it's kinda weird when my mom/brother/dad show or express any kind of love to me. I figure I don't want that kind of awkwardness in my own family.

I wasn't really the type to throw that word around at first. My mama got me and my siblings on that after my niece passed. You never know when that day is coming, so it's best to let that be the last word your loved ones hear from you. (Just in case)

This. I come from a similar background, but I've been with my current girlfriend about a year and a half now. Been friends for like 3 years. I tell her everyday when I get the chance. When she leaves in the morning, when we go to bed at night. Sometimes buy her flowers for no reason at all. Good women are hard to find. Cherish her while you got her is what I say.
