Word, I'll probably start with retail and thrift so I can touch the merchandise and get a feel for things while learning. Online is definitely the next step once I do my research and learn where to source.

I'm geeked to get started either way because I feel like I have a PhD from all the books and YouTube videos but now I finally have some good money to spend to make this happen. Fourth Quarter should be sweet.

This is what I do. I go to Marshalls, Ross, Goodwill and source 3-4 days a week. Ideally, I want to get into Private Labeling however, I still can't find a product to capitalize on. If you can find a product you're good to go, but that's the hardest part.

How long have you been doing it and how's it treating you thus far?

Dunno if its been mentioned in thus thread yet but research a niche (or create one) get in contact with an alibaba OEM product supplier who will make the modifications and branding etc you need on your product.

Send your product to the relevant to youtubers to do product reviews as well.

Im gonna start a thread in a couple months to show what I've done when its all finalised.
You mean like Soulja Boy does.... had his own line of hoverboards. Now he selling light up shoes.

They $40 on aliexpress. He chargin way more. All they did was add his signatures to the tounge

I've been doing it on a part time basis for 2 years, but last month I quit my full time job and took on a part time gig working twice a week, just so I could focus more on my business. Some days I'll make more per day than I did at my full time job and other days I won't make a penny. It all just fluctuates. I sell mainly on eBay, Amazon, and Craigslist. I've been researching items for private labeling on sites like Ali Express, Alibaba, etc. but I keep striking out.

There is a certain skill in identifying products online, and I'm still trying to figure it out. :francis:

Christmas is a few months away, and one of the few areas that I'm decent at is discovering the hot toys for holidays. This week I've been going to Target and Toys R Us and taking notes on certain action figures that I feel will be in demand in a couple months. It's definitely a grind that takes a lot of time and research, but in the end it will be worth it once you finally figure it out. Hopefully this thread will continue to pop so we can all help each other out. :obama:

I just wanted to say thank you, my brotha, for starting this thread. I read it in January, during a time that I wanted to take my finances to another level this year so it was perfect timing and made too much sense to not try it. After signing up for an FBA account and going through a bunch of false starts and getting charged $40 every month, I finally stopped playing and spent a few stacks toward getting this business off the ground.

It feels phenomenal. Most of the stuff I sent is still in reserve getting shifted between various fulfilment centers, but the ranks and profit margins I'm projected to enjoy are staggering. I'm a writer and a standup comic in Los Angeles and currently kill myself freelance writing web content as a day job. Going hard with FBA will potentially allow me to grow my money while having more control over my schedule and saving my creative writing energy for my career dreams. It will also let me and my wife move out of an apartment we hate, stack some bread, reduce some debt and put ourselves in a better position to start a family in a few years.

Plus, it's expanding our mind and teaching us business practices that will let us capitalize on other business opportunities. People don't say thank you enough, so I wanted to take time out to express gratitude toward you my brother, because no matter how this thing turns out, it has already changed my life.

:salute:

How much web content are you writing on a daily basis on average? I ask cuz I do freelance on Upwork every now and then, and I have to write a bunch of shyt for almost pennies. Shyt is frustrating as hell, but I choose that evil or working part time elsewhere.

I think I'm in the same boat as you bruh. It's to the point that for some of these rates I gotta use voice dictation software just to make it make sense. That's why I'm trying to diversify my income streams.
