(sidenote: I'm not fat, I'm just not in the best of shape. I'm 5'8, between 172 and 175 right now)

Anyway, it's a "no carb" diet.

I did it before a few months back and dropped 15 lbs in 2 weeks.

My whole plan then was to do the diet for 2 weeks and drop the weight and then slowly start adding the foods (good carbs) back into my diet with a good workout program, and try to put on some muscle mass.

Didn't quite work out that way because after I got off the diet, some major things happened professionally, and I was on call almost 24/7 for about a month.

I work in media, so when that stuff comes down on you, it comes down; and so I fell off my workout hard.

So I wound up putting that 15 lbs back on in the past few months.

So now Im gearing up to do the diet again, and this diet is basically fish and veggies and eggs, and nothing else.

I'm a sugar fiend and whenever I have a rough day, I fall back on sugar to comfort me.

I'm in a sexual drought, and food is one of the physically satisfying comforts I have right now.

But I gotta get my mind right on this and get back into this diet and workout thing.

Any advice my ripped brehs?

i'd say just count calories and macros and throw all of these bullshyt diets in the bushes

What macros you recommending?

How many grams of protein, carbs and fat?

40-40-20 is what I'm doing right now. About a year ago I cut down to Floyd Mayweather's size after being about 192. Lots of cardio, but I lost a lot of muscle because I wasn't lifting heavy and I wasn't eating enough.

Then I bulked for about 8 months back up to around 200 but this time I incorporated a lot of heavy lifting that I'd never done before, so I was actually a lot leaner at 200 than I was the year before cause i was totally ignorant to working out properly.

40-40-20 is just one of the old school macro splits a lot of people use.

Honestly, it doesn't matter, I might even get sick of counting these macros at some point and just stick to calories cause they're easier.

For losing weight, the most important thing is the calories. Don't even need that much cardio, but diet is what's going to cut you down.

So let's say you need 2000 calories a day, 40-percent of those calls should be protein, 40-percent carbs, 20-percent fat, assuming you're going with this split.

So you'd need around 200 g protein, 200 carbs, 88 g fat if you followed this.

The amount of protein is a contentious topic in fitness, and I even think you don't need that much, but I'm going to stick with this plan for a little while, and if I lose too much strength or I'm not cutting fast enough, I'll reduce my intake.

As you lose weight, you have to adjust accordingly macro wise, but I calculate my typical meals with pen and paper so I can track how many macros cals i'm getting.

That 15 you lost was likely mostly water.

At your current weight you are going to have to cut pretty deep to really move any fat around the waist. You also can spot reduce so 20-25 pounds might not be enough. 2 weeks won't be enough time to make major changes. Once you start trying to add muscle you are going to pick up some fat as well.

Doesn't sound achievable so you may need to decide what's most important.
