Look, there's a difference between poor judgement and pedophilia. Giddey's judgement is poor, it probably isn't the best idea to be a star athlete and fukking around with a high schooler. This story has caught fire because of PC politics here. This is hardly unique and as many people have said, in like 30 states, this wouldn't be an issue anyway because most states age of consent is 16--->the US federal age of consent is 16...
