Osmonds were around before the Jackson 5 though. They copied that poppy Jackson 5 sound and formula and they got got some hits after that.

The Osmands were a better group while the Jackson 5 was being carried by Mike. To clarify I would say the Spurs are a better team than the cavs but the Cavs woud win cuz of Lebron.

Eh, technically they were around first.

The Osmond brothers (the 3 older ones) had their group popping off in the late 50s/early 60s and the Osmond formula that everyone remembers (with Donnie at lead) didn't become a thing until MJ was killing it with the Jackson 5. Back in those days kids sang kid shyt but the Jackson 5 were literally doing adult Motown songs after all of that ABC shyt that they came in the game doing.

Osmonds pulled that classic move where white artists/groups would either outright jack a song that a black group already made into a hit on black radio or simply copy the formula and present it to the "mainstream." Elvis is the king of that shyt right along with that CAC doing the fake James Brown routine and the Osmonds are no different.

The chance of Donnie even being on MJ's level as a soloist was remote at best and the other Jackson 5 members were legit vocalists and dancers (and musicians). The Odmonds weren't in their league, but they got the CACpass, which is no surprise.
