SMF and LAX to VA and NC
Starting a new series for the '23, where I'd like to hear brothers and sisters opinions on how you compare the major cities in-states. Starting with the two Super Bowl city states, Pennsylvania and Missouri...

The links to the preceding entries are below:

Obviously, DC isn't technically in any state, but the land The District sits on was donated to The Feds from the state of Maryland 160-something years ago. So not only is The District on OG Maryland turf but there's the cultural crossover with Maryland in general---->for all intents and purposes, DC is an independent city in Maryland the same way Baltimore is, the same way VA cities are independent, the same way St Louis is an independent city in Mizzou...

This one's easy for me. Baltimore has its charm but it's not fukking with DC. Been to both a bunch, especially DC. DC's just a more well rounded city, bigger, more dynamic, badder women, better shopping, more shyt popping in general...

That is a weird phenomenon with the cities you mentioned; I’m also perplexed by how in Jersey you have boroughs, townships and villages that can be part of another city; or how in Connecticut and Massachusetts , county governments are weaker than in other places. Sheriffs are primarily only for jails and state police do a lot more work, as opposed to a place like Harris County Texas where the sheriffs do a lot more work.

But as far as the thread, I’m taking DC. I need to explore more of Baltimore outside of the downtown area; I know where the hoods of BMore are, but where are the black middle class enclaves where you can walk like U Street and Meridian Park in DC?

I understand what Op, even tho Alexandria and surrounding areas were considered DC at one point. I prefer DC over Bmore. Just more to do entertainment wise
