You are probably right but they had a man who was the front line of defense that they could lean and depend on.

Women nowadays are raising kids by themselves, and that shyt is no joke.

But why don’t we talk about the topic at hand. Are women happier today or in the past? Why?

Women are happier today. They can work where they want and fukk who they want. Their future is in their own hands. A woman that's unhappy is very likely her own fault.


I know a lot of ya'll don't like women having freedoms, but it is what it is. We need to teach men to be men, that's how we fix our problem.

There is no solution bro... For the most part - women from 1st world countries are useless.

In the modern era, the best position for men to be is a CEO or business owner.

Women give 100% obedience to the men that employ them.

You could be the most toxic nikka and they'll still bow down because you're their boss.

I've known this since I was young by watching women bow down to my father.

The solution is teaching men to be men. It's really that simple.

a 14-year old black girl recently one a national spelling bee contest, and she also plays basketball. I was extremely happy for her. You think my mentality is she should be in the kitchen barefoot?

I’m only speaking on what I’ve heard from women and my life experiences. Most women would prefer to work part time or not at all.

Gross oversimplification of reality.

All realtionships hit a low point and to pretend you will be perpetually happy is the height of foolishness. Also trying to focus on the man and it being his fault when both people bring baggage into a relationship is nonsense.

Our grandparents went through hell together in societies hostile to black men and women and came out on the other side with the hope that their children's lives would be better. Now this generation comes up, not understanding what sacrifice entails, and comes up with some of the most spectacularly silly hot takes

Completely disagree with the "simple"logic there. Yes, men can be better men, and that goes without saying.

But you being a man, in whatever way you want it defined isn't going to make your woman happy. She has to be doing the work for herself to make herself happy.

I could equally argue men are better men by miles than in those times. The same grandmothers, and mothers who raised and told their daughters about their unhapiness also raised their boys to be the opposite of that.

The majority of men grew up on the same disney fantasies.

Also disagree here. You can't prove women are happier today. If we say the past generations relationships were unhappy. All we can say is they were unhappy in relaitonships then, and unhappy in relationships now.

Even then, I would argue that freedom and independence does not equal happiness even in your personal life. Discipline and structure today is seen as shackles today.

Depending on your mind, freedom and independence is what hangs you.

I've heard this a lot, thanks for chiming in. Out doing and buying girly things leaves a lot to the imagination.

It sounds like he was the provider, but also that he did everything, so it also sound unbalanced.

In my home (before my pops passed). My pops did make more and was the majority provider, moms did work for average money, but s was still the prototype homemaker.

They had a great relationship, and even though my dad didn't pay 100%, men worked outside (took care of cars, grass/lawn, garbage. The only inside stuff was helping repairs

Moms cleaned, cooked, scrubbed, laundry, decorated, did all the interior design by hand, etc.

@Music Fiend absolutely not, my grandma was a teacher before they met and a nurse during the marriage. He retired at 40 and she got a job as a supervisor for a phone company because she hated being in the house all day.

She didn’t have to work she chose to.

He worked from 14 after his dad died so he never got to finish school. He had to provide for 11 siblings so all he knew was making money and he didn’t spend frivolously either.

He owned the freehold to every house they ever bought and she turned the house into a home.

Women who ended up with men out of survival naturally pass their jadedness down to their progeny; you can’t show love unless you know love

Happier? Probably not. But would I want to have to be married in order to survive? No, the idea of depending on 1 person for everything is terrifying especially with the way people are today.

The system isn't designed for happiness. Both situation have their ups and downs for women. You have to learn to correctly navigate each but I'd rather have options than not.
