Above the fray.
This is shameful to admit but I have also learned how much I could/am damaging my yard with dull mower blades :francis:

Damn, I am fixing that asap but also wanted to try something new so I ordered a manual reel lawn mower.

Many ppl belive it cuts grass in a much healthier way for your lawn if you are up for mowing frequently ( I am ) and will pick up debris from your lawn ( I do ) so I'll let you know my experience with it later but I am definitely replacing my rotor lawn mower blade

I tried one a few years back.

More hassle than it was worth . Didnt cut as evenly as an electric. Would get stopped by small unseen twigs that the other would chop. .ALSO, if rain or other circumstance upsets your cutting schedule, the grass will grow too high to get a decent cut with the manual mower.

Was convenient because I used to cut my relatives' lawn, and just bought one to put in their garage. Easy in and out.

You should get your rotary blade sharpened, as you purchase the new one. Keep it, and have them swap them out as you sharpen the other at the start of the season .

Here's who I follow for bermuda specific information. There's way too many products out there so I'm just sticking with big box for now. For pre-em I put down some Spectracide Weed Stop granular.

Here's a video on plugging. It's pretty dope because if you seed a bare spot it'll almost certainly be a different color than the rest of your lawn. Plugging keeps it consistent.

First, I appreciate this thread. As a homeowner, I pride myself on my lawn as it is therapeutic to work on the earth and see results. Also, crazy how it affects home equity, at least here in DC.

Experienced patches and the new growth is coming in but at a different hue & texture. Was thinking it's due to it being baby grass and will grow to match soon.:manny:

Side note: Have a bird feeder to dissuade them from attacking the grass. Has worked somewhat. Now thinking of getting some wind chimes to complete the cypher.:youngsabo:

Thanks @RageKage
Also, def been looking into ona them manual reel mowers recently. My mover only goes down to inch and a quarter
So I'm going to give a very hasty and hot take review of the American reel lawn mower.

Delivered early today and fam was away so I had a couple beers and set this up :obama:

Now granted I did less than 25% of lawn as the rest is being reseeded but this was excellent and fun AF :gladbron:

The grass catcher was fairly worthless but maybe I need to find tune that. It stopped once as there was a larger stick in the way but it was easy to maneuver and fast to use when blades are sharp.

I'm the only one rocking one of these in the neighborhood so I feel like I get extra rep.

If u don't have a huge lawn, I think this is great especially when lawn goes dormant in summer

I really like the idea of having a chainsaw but haven't been able to justify it yet đŸ˜‚

Have a sharp as hell hand saw I have used. Had a large limb come down years ago it would have been great for but I went to work on it immediately like and old school lumberjack and many hours later was proud AF I broke it down :obama:

My only working out comes from yard work so I need to find more projects to do haha

That's a great friend to have!

Have a lot of trees too, have had 3 cut down (bad health ) and still 4 more big ones in my yard, that makes lawn care tough as u would expect but I like the trees even though they are a lot of work :snoop:

yeah i like the trees for shade. keeps it a tad bit cooler in the summer. not to mention a bit of serenity when i look out of the window, birds, owls, squirrels, etc. and yep, that's my best friend lol
