I'm getting at the main theme of his argument with that question.
He said he is not spending any money on someone who is not his wife, a girl whom he asks out on a date is not his wife.& Awww,that was sweet of your girl.

However,I feel that if you asks me out on a date & you pay that is very polite and shows me that you know how to be a gentlemen.Paying on the first date, holding doors,etc shows me that you have some kind of home training & I value that.I remember going out with this one guy & not only did he pay for our date, he held the door opened for me & when we were at the movies he told me to sit on the inside because I'm the lady.It's not necessarily about the money,it's about do you know how to treat a woman?I can tell alot about your character from that first date.

Giving money to a woman in need doesn't strengthen a relationship, it only leads to being taken advantage of. Plus a women in need of money probably doesn't make sound financial decisions and is likely not a good mate.

You got that all wrong man. It's not simping to be supportive of your lady. For example, say the two of you are together and say all of a sudden her car breaks down. The majority of people don't have that kind of money laying around. If you have it to spare and she actually needs it, would you say no? If you're shopping and you spend whatever on yourself would you not bring something for her? Doesn't have to be extravagant or anything. Most females that are worth anything that I know would be willing to do just that. There's a difference between helping and being an enabler. You have to draw that line or help her become more responsible if being irresponsible is the issue.
