Sounds like the kind of place that closes at 4:30 on a friday.
. It does cater to everyone at times You have eastern Asian, African brehs in the building or a practice squad NFL player or electrical engineering students , Doctors etc. I've seen a bit of everyone . Having talked with the owner yesterday he said , "He wanted to change the culture in the city and that we as a people have moved pass the stereotypical barbershop." He got tired of standing online waiting 6 hours for a cut.
Monday Tues they close at 6pm
Wednesday - Friday 8pm
and Saturday 6pm
I've needed a haircut on some last minute ish interview in a Sunday I've paid $50 at the most for a house call.

Yep, breh has his own website too. There's a shop closer to me the has multiple chairs but still uses the website and/or app. Pick your barber, the cut you want, extra services like Bigen or hair wash etc, and it's done.
I remember being a kid and spending what seemed like FOREVER waiting to get my haircut. Wait like 90 minutes because all the other kids showed up earlier. Some shops still do it that way but professional brehs ain't got time to wait on a bunch of 10-year olds getting cut. Half the time, the kids barely need an edge up. Hair still crisp from the last cut.

My barber is in his late 50s, super old school. Raised his prices for the first time ever after covid, from $15 to 20. Doesn't really do appointments during normal hours. I agree that getting in early on a Saturday morning is the best option, or whatever morning you don't have to work.
I'm def dreading having to pick a new barber when he retires. Breh getting older and is a cancer survivor. When breh got diagnosed and was in the hospital I had to go to a different shop for the first time in well over a decade and trust me that shyt was NOT fun. Def saw the unprofessional side of things. Weird loud arguments, barbers taking 5 minute breaks during a cut to check their phone, no ability to walk in and get a cut even if you are willing to wait. I waited over an hour at one spot because the sign said walk-ins welcome. Watched a barber chilling for 20 minutes doing nothing between cuts while I was there waiting. His next appointment came in and got in the chair. Eventually I said fukk it and left.

Unless you 8 yrs old hold ya own L. Ain’t been to a “shop” in a min. My barber got his own spot I go to with an appointmentNow this might depend on someone's personal experience but over time I am finding that barbershops are getting worse.
Barbers getting into arguments with other barbers or with clients who aren't even in the chair, whether serious or casual. Which, I get this is part of any barbershop but when the MF keeps pausing in the middle of your shape up, it's like bruh...you can be here all day but I got shyt to do.
Barbers answering their phones every 5 minutes.
Barbers taking forever to cut in general -- fool you keep going over the same damn spot, aint no more hair there. Move on.
Barbershops being interrupted by some dusty clown trying to sell colognes or goofy shyt like stolen car or motorcycle parts.
Plus now you got people thinking if they pick up a broom and sweep up the hairs, they can get a free cut. Fool, nobody asked you to do that shyt. You paying like everyone else.
I was at the damn shop for 3 hours yesterday. I know Saturdays are the busiest days but I know women who spend less time getting their shyt done.
It's an epidemic out here.
If I absolutely need to go to a shop best believe it will be pre scheduled. You went in on a Saturday with intention to shoot the shyt in the shop but bit more than you could chew

Had to drop my last barber because he was bad. I would have an appointment at say 10am but dude wouldn't show up until like 10:30 or if he came late earlier so he has two other people waiting for him when it's my turn.
Stopping in the middle of a cut to order food, go out to the back to smoke a blunt, stopping to argue with other barbers and other customers about sports, etc. I called him out on it and he had the nerve to get mad at me!
At that point it was time to move on and it was hard too because he was DOPE with the clippers and for the longest he kept his prices low. I would always get compliments from folks because he stayed getting me right.
Current barber is cool and very professional but dude is TOO religious and always preaching (he's also a pastor).
When you find a good barber brehs hold on to them as long as possible, brehs.

A lot of barbers today do not know how to do a proper line up. They go out of their way to fukk it up and push it back just to use that black spray.
