That’s because of the simple aspect of trying to protect civilians. You toss that out and place would of been left a grave yard.

Either way no one would “win”

But you forgot that was the socialism era and Soviet Union had already manufactured their own nuclear bombs by then and were also ahead of America in missile technology. Soviet airmen were also actively involved in that war (they were most of the pilots flying fighter jets). So, the US would’ve been nuked as well if they had tried it.

Gen McArthur called for nuclear strikes on China when the Chinese were running over everything but it was shutdown in Washington. It would’ve been Armageddon.

Depends on the type of war.

An invasion of China, no.
Protecting Taiwan, probably not.
China invading Japan, yes.
China attacking the US, fukk yes.

China can't project...doesn't matter if they have potentially a billion fukking troops, they can't get them to leave the country. They have no navy...the carriers they have are not nuclear powered so they only can project a couple hundred miles from the coast. Their airplanes are Russian fighters 2 generations behind what the US has. They can only build bombs right now, which is what they are doing.

In 30 years, this will be a different story, but objectively the US can hurt China very badly in any scenario faced, even if the US doesn't win. The US losing a conflict looks like Vietnam or Afghanistan, more embarrassment than total loss. China not so much.
China actually does have a navy. In fact, they have the largest in the world (even if most of it consists of coastal patrol boats:mjlol: )

They can't power project because they don't have the amphibious capabilities to even move their armies to Taiwan, which is their largest logistical hurdle. They're going to need another 10-15 years in order to correct that issue, but by then, America should have a legitimate counter to their hypersonic missiles, which is the only thing (besides nukes) that can render our navy useless.

Yeah. No matter how many airships you have, they still have to land.

China got the U.S. coming and going.
They make most of America’s chit, America still owes them bread (which makes you more fierce),
they little so it’s hard to grab them, and the Karate chit on deck.
Jackie Chan is 80 years old, and still fuccin’ niccas up.

I mean -
if they wanted to really be about it, they can just tell all the Take Out Restaurants over here to poison the Fried Rice & General Tozo’s Chicken (word to Nore) and they can walk in here and take this country over in a month.

Again, this is all in my expert military opinion.

Ok, let me clarify. China's navy has more units. The US has bigger units. The US has 12 aircraft carriers. China has 2. The US can sail all over the world, China can't go further than a couple hundred miles off of their shore and be effective.

Still doesn't change my original statement of present day capabilities.

It won’t happen. PERIOD. No matter how much postering between the two a REAL full out war between America and China would have GLOBALLY devastating consequences and i’m not saying that to be cute. It would be the “end” of the world as we know it

the OP asked about air combat.

economic and nuclear factors aside… China has no chance

US would win, but things in the US would be miserable while we did it.
Covid kind of showed how we are so dependent on imports for everything. Couldn't build ventilators in the country, supply chain fukking up everything from PS5s to cars, etc.
Even this Russian thing is being done with kid gloves due to Russian oil pipelines going to western europe, beef with China would be that x10
