Folks have been sounding the alarm and saying since training camp that the Browns and Stefanski were not developing Shaduer and setting him up to fail. Folks made all types of excuses and said we were Shaduer stans and exaggerating. This game and what was disclosed in the presser afterwards proved us right. He was setup to fail. Of course we hoped he would overcome the circumstances and ball out but absolutely nobody should be shocked he struggled given the circumstances. It was predictable, expected and 100% avoidable if the browns and coaches did their job.
Once Flacco was traded away and Sanders was QB2 the browns knew he was one hit away from being in the game. There are no excuses for them not having ANY plan or prep for Shaduer in the event this happened. That's 100% on the coaching and that is the definition of setting your QB up to fail. You can argue all you want about the why and talk about how Dillon needs all the reps but since the coaches made that decision they have to OWN it. This is a situation they created and gambled on when they decided to completely ignore Shaduers development and practice with the first team.
It's not a conspiracy anymore. Its a proven fact they haven't been preparing Shaduer to play at all like we feared was happening. We know what it looks like when the Browns are invested in making sure their rookie QB is put in the best situation to succeed cause that's exactly what they did with Dillon. They had a game plan made just for Dillon and have been giving him 1st team reps since training camp. No matter how bad Dillon played they still gave him every opportunity as if he was a 1st rounder.
Nothing about what the browns are doing is normal. Teams that want to win don't do this. Picking 2 rookie QB's in the draft so close is not normal. Browns have gone through more QB's in the past 20 years than any other team and many of their QB's only found success after leaving the Browns. Even Flacco looked incredible this season right after the trade while looking like ass on the browns.
Name me one QB the browns or Stefanski have successfully developed in the past 20 years? Since you think this is a competent organization and want to drink their bath water.. I'll wait for your answer.
That would make sense if Stafanksi wasn't going around saying he was developing Shaduer and invested in him. Literally every post game interview when Dillon was trash and folks asked him about Shaduer his response was he was developing him and he is invested in his young rookies and that's why he wasn't playing him yet.

What would be the end goal here ? You do know at any point they could waive him, or put him on the practice squad but they haven’t done any of that, do you know how many coaches were forced to work with a qb they didn’t want? So they will sabatoge themselves all in the name of taking a kid they have no ties to down a peg ?
No quarterback has looked good for the Browns.
Mahomes, Hurts, Allen and (healthy) Lamar would struggle to win 7 or 8 games with this squad.
Shedeur has a lot of room to grow and improve but no one is taking this Browns squad anywhere.
It also doesn't help that the Browns coaches and some of the front office NEVER wanted Shedeur in the first place. They will do everything possible to help DG look as good as he can....and they won't do SS any favors.
Not an excuse for Shedeur to play that poorly, but let's not act like Cleveland is the Harvard of QB development.

Dillon and Sheduer have been treated WAAAAYYYYY differently be Stefanski. At the end of the day Dillon was getting a healthy amount of 1st team snaps as the backup whereas Sheduer has gotten none. And Dillon also got scout team snaps. They've been giving Sheduer scraps.
