I'm really surprised as well.

The bolded is a match-up problem against these other guards, both PG and SG. Magic at 6'9 could post up any PG in this draft all game if he wanted to, forcing the other team's SG/SF to a possible switch, which frees up AI to do what he does best against the opposing PG.

I think it's possible you're getting met with some Allen Iverson bias. It's a shame because dude was a monster in that Finals run.

If Shaq wasn't available, I'd probably have drafted Magic with my first pick because of that mismatch potential. Dude is pretty much a "game-breaker."

I'll take Rick Carlisle

Don't have the benefit of a Dirk here but Carlisle is a master at working with what he's got and I'm sure he'd have no problem giving some freedom to the guys who thrive with it.

Kinda wanted to go Jerry Sloan here because of how his offense generates mismatches down low, but the Flex also doesn't do a great job of creating spacing in short amounts of time. Relatively antiquated compared to what Carlisle runs.
