I'm going through the Middle Earth books (currently on the Silmarillion) and even today I think it's one of the best Fantasy worlds in literature. I can definitely see how bruh can get so invested with the series.
But yeah JRR Tolkien was big into Anglo myths and linguistics. It's basically Tolkien creating a new European mythology to go next to others like the Prose Edda and Arthurian legend complete with its own written language

I fukked the spelling up and didnt phrase that well. My bad. If im already inviting a black woman into my space, same for the great majority of brehs, its pretty much set in stone I am interested in her and not exclusively white girls. I didnt meet black women who were openly into nerdy shyt until college, whereas all the stuff I was interested in attracted white, asian, and other. If I get the cold shoulder from a sista cause she knows what im into, its self-fulfilling for them to explore relationships with women who are not into the same thing. There is more context but that is the general idea.

Maybe if you compare the Legendarium against Star Wars. It's hard to compare three novels to 9 movies, and a multitude of other canon material across different mediums.
But what does hurt SW is that it's having little retcons here and there, and that it is going to get whored out by Disney so that means the suits get the ultimate say.
Once Tolkien died the canon stopped.
