Oh that's good for you. We have to save for higher education in the US and I'm not particularly mad about it.

I don't want my girl having kids at 35, so it's better if we get ours done soonish. Plus I can keep on top of my bills, provide food and clothing to an adequate standard so I don't think I'm struggling financially. Nobody in my family has ever been to university before so it's not like it's something we are used to planning for.Why would you have more children if you're already struggling financially with the ones you have? Wouldn't it make sense to get on your feet first?

Which country that?Of course you ain't mad about it since you don't have the same standards as us.
We actually get paid for getting a higher education.![]()

Nice, is that for foreigners too or swedes only?Sweden.
I don't know, as soon as I've got the spare money to do so - I feel you on what your saying but my life has already come off track from where I was heading originally so sometimes you have to compromise to be able to get to where you need to be. I've already instilled a drive and the want to achieve and win in my son which is a start. I also feel like I've already broken a cycle in my family be the level of achievements I've made at work and by not ending up in too much trouble with the police growing up. I do understand the concept of laying the foundations of the house for the family to grow but at the moment I'm still cleaning the land up.If you don't start planning, when in your family's lifetime do you plan on starting? I'm the first generation to plan with hopes that generations after me do the same but if no one ever starts when will it get picked up?

I actually sort of agree with you, but I am with a woman with two kids, neither of which are mine - for me to fully commit to this family, I must have my own kids there. In a perfect world, I'd still be with my baby mother, she wouldn't have lost the plot, we'd be 9 years into paying a mortgage off with our second child and plenty of money in savings for both children.I'm definitely not knocking you because I respect what you're doing and you make what decisions are best for your family. From the outside looking in, it doesn't seem like the best plan. Having more children when you're still "cleaning your land up" is just leaving you with more to clean up and I think it will be a longer path getting you back to where you wanted to be. I still wish you the best of luck in getting there, I know it's not easy.
Don't have kids so never really thought about it
But $50 a week x 52weeks x 18 = 46800 per kid
Which seems pretty reasonable![]()
Gonna need way more than that 18 years from now, though. That's the sad part.
