It being a video game will always be greater than it being a "sports" video game.
The entire foundation is its a game. Superbowl for 1 game in real world works cause its a multi hour super marketed event with weeks of advertising.
For a quick video game, the standard is best out of 5. This is why console e-sports are trash. Hard to get invested/care about 30 minutes of game play.
Before you use the typical console peasant argument of "its like real life" well one, its not. And two, that can apply to any video game that people with common sense use best of 5 on. Using your theory/logic, if you get knocked out in street fighter you shouldnt have a rematch? If you lose a round of counter strike or call of duty, thats it, your character is dead and cant rematch? Lets do better next time.

Breh we play a connected franchise mode it's not a tournament, we literally have been building our teams since September and this was the 3rd season, we could've covered the entire playoffs but does Coli really want watch idk 12 games before the SB? No. People only interested in semi finals to finals I'm not even sure what your point is. It wouldn't even be possible to replay because we again are in a franchise mode now we are going to Free agency

It was hard as hell correcting this secondary but I got two 90 Safety's in the draft PJ Williams playing FS, he a beast.
you cant set the rosters on a custom mode to what the super bowl rosters would be and then play best of 5 ?
No, your Connected Franchise Mode roster is exclusive to within the CFM you're playing, you can't take it outside of that.
