The reason is there was a picture a few years back when she was wearing bright red lip stick .

As I've said up here many times. Bright red lip stick and dark skin women is unfortunately just not a good look 75% of the time. There are exceptions, but it's one of those colors that is literally hit or miss with chocolate dark skin.

Matter fact here is the picture.

There was a whole thread on it, and they were going in on her.

She is absolutely beautiful woman, dark skin or otherwise

That particular red lipstick picture just didn't do the best job showcasing it.
