America is a violent nation. It was especially so 100 years ago. Poor, dusty people moved here and brought violence with them. Do the nations you can point to with poverty and low crime have the same history and access to weapons/drugs as America? Do they have the same massive wealth gap that would breed contempt? Do they have close knit villages with shared communes and schools that you’re comparing to a massive 1st world nation? Every poor person isn’t going to be a criminal but again, in THIS country there is a reason you can go to one side of town and be surrounded by roses but surrounded by gunsmoke on another side. If you work to fix that issue and the structures around it crime is going to go down. And I’m not talking about just having some money, I mean invest into communities.
