Colibrehs you've been made NBA commissioner with the task of fixing the NBA. You are guaranteed a 4 year contract to do so. What would you change?

I'd implement a tenure limit . 15 years max Get the fucck on.

Teams with best records make the playoffs

East & West only play each other in the all-star game and playoffs

I think you’re getting to the heart of the issue. Casual fans just don’t feel like todays NBA is competitive and one of the reasons is that hustle players and defensive specialists have been phased out of the game.

The return of physical defense needs to happen immediately.

Also get rid of defensive 3 seconds. Offensive should have to work to move the defense out of the paint.

Defense would be more effective if they call traveling properly. It’s impossible to stop a player that can take 5 steps

What kind of shots are you aiming for, is there still a 3 pt line?

That load management shyt would be OVER with.

There is no way in hell that people that work regular 40+hrs a week should look at somebody being paid millions to play a kid's game for generational wealth and say some dumb shyt like "These guys need more rest!!!" When you are a damn missed paycheck or 2 from being carless and homeless.

Goofy muthafukkaz would probably be on here outraged if a commissioner came out and said if you are really injured, you still get paid, but if you load management, you don't get paid for the games you decide to sit out.

3. Heavily fine these players who sit out games due to rest. It's to the point now where it is embarrasing. The NBA is losing middle America. Middle America mentality is to show up to work no matter if you're in pain or sick. That's why the NFL is king.
I agree with everything you posted, but this right here, on point like a muhfukka

The real fix doesn't exist yet and would be looked at as unethical. Cloning.

You clone all the NBA greats and you make all the bullshyt what if so and so played in this era hypotheticals a reality.

Ratings going through the roof.

No conferences, everybody plays everyone twice for a 62 game season.

Push the start of the season back from October to December. Move the all star game back and completely rework it to make it more interesting.

No back to back games.

Make a some percentage of the players salary tied to percentage of games played with some injury guarantees to protect the players.

Push the 3 point line back a bit and eliminate the corner 3. MFs who’s entire offensive identity is standing in the corner, need to go.

Bring back hand checking.

  1. Accelerate expansion to Vegas and Seattle. Like...by tipoff 2026.
  2. Make the NBA all Star game voting and game like it used to be, just regular, but add a 36 million dollar price to the winners. Every player gets $3mm if they win. These guys are rich but 3 million is 3 million.
  3. Have standing, regularly scheduled evening games on network tv. Friday most likely...own a day like cfb does Saturday and NFL does Sunday. And bring back double and triple headers on network tv starting Christmas, on Sundays.
  4. Bridge relationships with ESPN and network college broadcasting...build anticipation for high performing college players so they're hot coming into the draft. Have a college star of the week on inside the NBA / inside stuff weekly.
  5. Create a hard knocks type show, showcasing a smaller market team. I don't like these but casuals eat them up.
NBA needs less teams not more

THIS. It’s an insult to your fanbase’s intelligence and hard earned money to sit a player for rest that they most likely don’t need, unless they’re hurt. The normal, hardworking fan doesn’t want to hear about players needing more rest, when half the league is making 9 figures. It’s deeply offensive, and it’s a huge turn off for the viewing audience. If I’m Adam Silver, load management is the one issue above all else that I should be treating as a blinking red light. Those fans upset at players resting games, will be less likely to attend future games, and possibly view less games on TV.

The league needs to go back to the rules before 2017.

I’d also adopt the FIBA rules. Like no 3-seconds.

A hard salary cap of $200M indexing to revenue is what I’d prefer. No more luxury tax.

Contracts being guaranteed is fine as the union fought for it. I’m a believer in collective bargaining.

I would tell all broadcast TV partners from National to local to promote the game. And by that, I mean the game! The teams. The playbook. The tactics. And of course the storylines. Bring back monologues for big games, the playoffs and the Finals.

No more blackouts!

The new TV deal will have more games on broadcast television (ABC and NBC). I’d demand both networks relentlessly promo’d games via traditional and online methods.

Moving the 3-point line back is an interesting idea but I don’t think it’s needed. Especially if we can get defenders able to play with more freedom.

I do not agree with going below 82 games.
