I fukks with Kaepernick, but, he's starting to look like he's playing a character.

The "Sports = Slavery" thing is weird as hell.

He's embodying the tragic mulatto trope himself.

What's kills me is; after four years and the opportunity to put America and it's racism into context, the best he could do (I WATCHED THE VIDEO IN THE OP) was come up with these Freshman level college explanations of black issues in media????

Carlton (that's my favorite) was well rounded and his character was used to tell a lot of interesting stories about the black experience.

Someone posted the video of him being called a sellout. Then there's the robbery episode, the episode where they got pulled over, etc, etc.

I hate to be so simple in my critique, but, this is some "Let's go viral on Twitter" level analysis of television and black men.

shyt, he could have atleast talked about how the Telcom Act caused a lot of black targeted media to dissappear as big corps bought up all the smaller channels.

Bro he mentioned Reagan maybe a handful of times in 6 seasons.

It couldn't have happened that often cause I've watched the series multiple times and have absolute no recollection of that.
I rewatched the series when it came on hbo max and he mentioned his reagan Fandom a few times. Im trying to find clips on YouTube

He needs more ppl. Dude is honestly coming off like someone who didn't grow up in our community and is regurgitating what he learned in the last couple of years.

Even the way he's talking here. He dont sound black his self :pachaha:

Feels like he is cosplaying as black.

I supported Kap at first but this blacker than black black black shyt he taking too far and its embarrassing

he talking about old ass TV show characters they aren't even relevant

Urkel was a popular character because Jaleel hill was the star of the show, everyone like urkel because he was funny

Carlton bank was never as popular as Urkel or the outshining Will Smith on the Fresh Prince, it's a dumb ass comparison

So, whether you like Kaepernick or not… is he wrong? It’s very simple and obtuse to attack the messenger because of real or perceived flaws, but what do nikkas think about what he’s actually trying to say?

Who do you listen to? Who do you look to for opinions on social issues? Are they perfect? Is there anyone on earth who’s entitled to an opinion if they’re not 100% right about everything all the time?

His keyboard militant girlfriend clearly wrote the script for him.

Is that really Colin? nikka looks and sounds stupid as fukk. Hell, I’d argue Colin made this wack ass documentary for white people to “explain” things to them and I ain’t even watch this crap but ain’t no way his demographic for this doc was black people so fukk is he talking about?

Besides Carlton also wasn’t a c00n on the show, he just grew up rich in a white neighborhood but Uncle Phil was a proud black man and wasn’t raising no c00ns in his house. Nothing about the show had “acceptable negro” on it. fukk Colin for this take trying to rewrite history on one of the greatest black sitcoms of all time.

I agree with the concept and the message, but not the examples. I don't know how much he thought about the nuances behind using these characters.

You could argue this with Carlton, you could. But only on a surface level. One of the most important parts of Fresh Prince is Carlton representing blackness in his own way while learning from Will about his representation of blackness. There are episodes that dealt with this problem directly.

Urkel? White people loved him, but how did he assimilate? He was a popular character on a TV show millions of people watched every week. That's it. The Cosby Show was the biggest show in the country when it was out. Are the Huxtables acceptable Negros, too?

And the other examples he used........I notice all of them are black characters in shows with predominantly white casts. Is it Gary Coleman's fault for being so talented, he had America by the balls back in the day? Kim Fields was Tootie, but she was also Regine. Is she no longer an acceptable Negro because she's surrounded by other black characters? No, because Carlton was surrounded by other black characters and he's an AN, so.............how much did Kaep think about all this? :mjtf: :mindblown:

What message? What’s the point of this? How does this help?

Thats not helping your point. Supporting a clear white supremacist who started his campaign in a area that experienced a race massacre and used racial overtones to start his campaign, and was racist during his presidency sounds like you either hate black people or you are twisting yourself to be acceptable to whites. So much so that you stan for a white supremacist

You basically described every president during their presidency.
