Ok...I know 99% of this site were c- history students and get there history from this site. As someone who had AP history and knows American history (the good and bad) this has got to be the most fake outrage I've seen.
Now, let me preface my comments by stating that yes, this flag represents and era of U.S. history where we were slaves. But it isn't the symbol or marker of our enslavement.
To those who don't know. This is the flag flown during the revolutionary war vs the Great Britain empire which is why its connected to Independence Day. (Just educated 90% of this site)

We are threading very dangerously on a slippery slope. I get and agree with the removal of all Confederate icons and those attached to it. But to rid of anything pre 1865 is ridiculous and an strike on not only this shytty countries history...but ours too and our fight

Once again, Betsy Ross wasn't a slave owner...she was a Quaker and upholsterer. Im almost willing to bet Colin is under the influence of someone else on this one cause it's a reach. Even from a militant standpoint

All that old history and Betsy Ross shyt aside...the article mentions Kaep had a problem with what that flag represents TODAY. White nationalist groups, far right-wing extremists and various Patriot Movement groups like the 3 Percenters, Oathkeepers, & Light Foot Militia, among others, currently use some iteration of that flag or the 13 stars circle.

I'm not White and I think he should have had no input on this. I don't see the Betsy Ross flag and think of being oppressed. Nike has made colonial inspired apparel and sneakers for a long time. The USMNT/WNT and USA Basketball have had inspirations on their uniforms. Kaep is a bozo. Where was he when Nike made the Betsy Ross uniforms for the 76ers?

Us flag is just as racist and disgusting as the confederate flag and most black americans should take the same view of it as the confederate one, but they are scared
