Why can't a brother just have a different stance on something that impacts his community? Especially when he started speaking out around the same time when tensions were running high as hell after Ferguson. The only difference between all the others notable brothers that were posting their feelings about it on Instagram and social media is that Kaepernick did a small gesture and was thrown into the limelight.
Let's say she did influence him in even a little way why is that bad. I don't know about you but the shyt is being talked about everywhere, anything and I mean anything that keeps another brother from dying by the hands of cops is a damn good thing. I see like this since Kaepernick has started his protest and the national spotlight is on him means less itchy trigger cops and cacs walking around merking my people. I don't see how any brother can be against that in any way.
Does it really matter? Only a few people are trying to link her with some AA identity. The point is she is a rider and is not allowing people to defend their white supremacy positions like Ray has tried to.

To ur point. Not everything that is on the surface a "good thing"... is really a good thing. What Kap is kneeling/standing for is a good msg, but its not like we havent already had the msg. but because of the controversy, it has enhanced the spotlight. A Good Thing...
However, Kap is a guy who showed no signs of having any objective in life beyond playing football, being young, and having fun. up until recently after he started dating nessa. Who herself is a mix of thot-ish tendencies and socio-political rhetoric...
If what i believe is true, that him getting into a relationship sparked this new found consciousness in him (and the timeline seems to prove that) then he is a person that is potentially headed for a personal downfall and the msg he is trying to promote might fall with him.
Because the passion he is displaying for the message is directly tied into the relationship with this woman. If the relationship with this woman goes sour, what happens to the passion that he has for The Cause? Because The Cause didnt grow inside of him thru personal experience, or teachings over a long period of time, it came to him because he cares for this woman.
Ive seen this play out in real life all the time (usually with women tho). Person A gets with person B. Person B influences person A, to eat diff, change religion, cut off fam/friends, etc... Person A is captivated by person B. So they change... Person B leaves Person A.
Person A goes back to old ways.

I understand the point ur making in general. I know ur point wasnt specifically concerning Malcolm.
To that point, I say U are right. there are different paths... but consider this... There are paths that are short that lead to a temporary change... and there are longer, harder paths that lead to a more substantial change.
My argument is that Kap is making permanent life altering decisions, because of a potentially temporary situation. Like most relationships with younger people
