Can you imagine a majority of the "hot" producers of today showing how they came up with melodies?

"Naw, I really didn't come up with the melody. It came preset in the software program. I just sped it up a lil bit and added some trap beat to it"

I actually picked up The Chronic on CD from Best Buy a couple weeks ago. The melodies and instrumentation:ahh:


Its funny u say that cuz Prince refered to Hip Hop producers as "programmers" so that shot u took at current producers forces me to acknowledge that musicians once looked at hip hop producers as people who just take music already made and just put add ons to it and call it a hip hop beat.

that Colin Wolfe Q&A was really interesting....and he's definitely an unsung hero.....

i do slightly disagree with him saying that if you sample from other records your beats are only going to be as good as the sample though.....
