you could be a Black woman in a family full of women as a Black person and not have much personal interaction with Black men. it's not unheard of

This + she can have "much personal interaction" with Black men and still be ignorant of the Black Male Experience.

I love my Mother and my sisters, but there are things I just cannot talk to them about because they have shown
they don't have a clue what i'm talking about.

I took a black male studies class when I went to college . I swear it was me ,one other black guy and Latinas :blessed::sas2:

So I believe him 100%

Ended up failing cause I plagiarized my final assignment and got caught :russ: I thought my life was over

I took an African-American Literature class, it was mostly "niccas ain't chit" books and essays by Black Women.
We only read one book by a Black man - and it was an "I wasn't chit" memoir.

There was only two dudes in that class: me and another nicca who stayed sleep most of the time.
I felt like Miss Sophia in dat mugg - ALL THAT SEMESTER I HAD TO FIGHT

Man, do you mfs just not meet nice girls anymore?:skip:

Seriously, you gotta look at the places you choose to spend your time if you feel like 'feminism and stripper culture' is ruining women. I run into more regular girl next door types than I do these insane women that get linked on here. Everyone's personal experience is anecdotal, but I'm not seeing these supposed thots enough for it to change my opinion on women my age. It's just not that serious.
How old are you?

Why would a black person need a class to understand black people (men) :gucci:
It was gender specific, same as men of all ethnic groups electively taking a woman's studies class of women of all ethnic groups.

Thinking a black woman is going to automatically understand you for sharing a phenotype is a big issue we have and why we are not on the same page. Actual connection is taken for granted.

This topic is actually a little bit more interesting than I thought.

For one, I get the premise of the creation of this class. I was originally going sign off on these videos as cap without looking at them, but from my time in college I've seen some interesting dynamics.

First off, I get the creation of the class as way of keeping black men engaged and creating somewhat of a support system as they navigate college. I think its definitely crucial for people who don't have any family members that have completed college.

However, the real take away from the perspective of black men, is that I was let down that black men didnt take this class seriously and ultimately dropped out.

Next up: BW

So in the clip, the professor mentioned that there was a lot of hand waving. So basically a lot of the discussion were probably heavy and used to demonize a lot of black men.

Ethnic studies classes have a way bringing for a lot of heavy yet much needed dialogue. And I'm sure black women in the class were fairly vocal about their point of view.

So I can see how bm dropped out of this class and slowed down on enrolling for this.

Next up: WW and Latina

I've actually seen this happen where WW and Latinas were in a black studies and they were genuinely interested in the material. And like the professor said, they were getting straight A's on the material, and it was kind of embarrassing to see black people in the class struggle to get B's and C's, when the material wasn't entirely dense.

With minimal studying, everyone should have aced the class, but that's never how it plays out.

Regarding the second clip:

I 100% agree with what the woman is saying.

It's pretty straight forward. I believe this element contributes to why both black men and women date out.

I've definitely come across a few black woman that have indirectly said as much about their frustration and placement in the western world. And not being the standard of beauty and hold bm as contempt for it.

On the surface, I "get" the frustration, but the reality is, as a collective, we're at where we're at.

Black people have been making strives for years for to get and demand better treatment, as well as access to opportunities.

Also, its important to be realistic. We're the minority in this situation.

With that said, the second video touched on a lot of great stuff, like self hate a lot black women and men have when dating out. They're essentially trying bridge closer to whiteness, as a way to assimilate.

A lot of the same BM who date WW, are very :mjpls: towards other black people in general. A lot of them have a very token mindset, like they're the only successful brehs.
He said they reemerged after he adapted the discussions. They didn't just drop off never to return.

It's kind of feeling like a wrap for dating US black women unfortunately...unless they're in church.

If you want to date black and are more traditionally minded, seems like the best bet is to go with African or Caribbean.
Don't me simple minded. :stopitslime: That is the same logic and mentality that racist cacs develop. Seriously......come on.
