And for the 1000th time pretending like the specific player doesn't matter is ass backwards thought. You pay for elite talent. Y'all will use the worst examples as a blanket reason combined with saying "market" and "value" to justify lowballing elite running backs and you're using the words wrong. There's no universe where Saquon the player is less valuable than Daniel Jones in any concept of value. The same can be said for Josh Jacobs and the combination of Carr/Jimmy. Ain't no one look at Javon Walker's contract and decide they aren't paying WRs anymore......or David Boston's contract. Albert Haynesworth contract hasn't stopped defensive lineman from getting paid. The person I responded to brought up Zeke and Leveon as a reason to not pay future elite RBs, but milquetoast ass Brock Osweiler and Sam Bradford didn't stop Ryan Tannehill from getting paid.

Y'all just heard some guy with slicked back hair on ESPN say it's a "passing" league and just jumped out the window thinking running backs don't matter anymore. They actually matter more now than ever because of how defenses are set up. Just say you're a lemur and you're following someone else. A mediocre QB can have a less than average season and there will be a chorus of "We'll you gotta pay the QB tho....", but if the team's best player is an RB it'll be "market" and "less valuable" like y'all are parrots. It's incredible.
All “elite talent” is not created equally because positions are not the same in terms of value. Justin Tucker is the GOAT kicker(I’d actually rather have him on my team over any RB) but I’m not paying him 15 million dollars a year. An elite kicker and an elite QB are not the same, just like an elite RB and an average QB are also not the same.

Your saquon example is funny. The giants were ass his entire career there but the first season Daniel jones was a top 21 ish QB is when they finally had a winning record. Oh it’s almost like the QB is more important :mjlol:

Dude really just said running backs matter now more than ever :mjlol:

You keep trying to get around the obvious fact that QB's are just flat out more valuable. Use your little talking point about people following some gut with slicked back hair on television all you want. It doesn't make you right.

I'll make it simple for you, although I know exactly what you'll do here.

Find me the last highly paid HB to lead his team to the Super Bowl.
You telling me Daniel Jones is more valuable than Saquon? :francis:

There are people on here who actually believe an elite or great RB is equal in value to average QBs :heh:
Are they worth 4x more?
Cause completely run of the mill average Daniel Jones got paid 4x more than Saquon who completely carried the Giants offense last year according to anyone who actually watched games

Is that what the market says?

The first year Daniel jones didn’t completely suck the giants were a winning team. Surprise

How come he didn’t carry them in 2018? Or 2019?

He carried them those years too :russ:

Just cause the team wasn't good doesn't mean he wasn't carrying their bum asses
The 2 years Saquon was injured with the ACL and high ankle sprain in 2020 & 2021 they legitimately had the worst offense in the NFC
They literally only score when he's healthy

While you're at it, please find me an HB on a SECOND contract that has lead his team to the AFC or NFC Championship (won't make you limit it to the Super Bowl) over the past 15 years that did not already have a top tier QB or elite defense?

I can do QB's if you'd like.:lupe:.

Except that isn't the argument at all. Some of you act like everything is apples to apples.

A young HB on a rookie contract is valuable.

Teams not wanting to give an HB, a position that takes a lot of wear and tear, a long contract extension after four or five years in the league does not mean they think the position isn't valuable.

How did the contracts for Gurley, Zeke, and Bell turn out? Oh, horrible? Exactly.
Derrick Henry doing pretty good
