Yeah he fukked up the chemistry of the show. He had a real good thing going on. I think he read too much into the criticisms about Pete's jail talk. He needed someone to offset him, and now his show just sounds boring.

Juan Ep is weak but better than the current combat jack show and gets most of the same guests. Taxstone is ok. Brilliant Idiots is annoying but good. Premium Pete is surprisingly entertaining but lacks great guests. Nore is entertaining as hell, he definitely the new king

Combat jack show for me was at its height as a group podcast. I can get interviews anywhere...

The fukkery and all around talk with the old posse was great. Now it's dry and just so similar to everything else. I liked feeling like I was sitting in on a group of friends talking about the rap game.

Truth.

The first episode I realized it was starting to fall off was the Jadakiss joint. You get Kiss on the show, you can speak to him about all kinds of shyt that people want to know about or mad funny stories. But they dropped the ball on that one, and that's when I realized how important Pete was to the show. It's just way too dry now. Combat can't pull it off by himself.

I swear as a person who grew up in the "consumable" market and lived long enough to witness the "disposable" market is crazy to me. The shelf life is fleeting on any and everything. The younger generation are so ready to dispose quality because of quantity. They sift through music/movies/books/tv shows for immediacy and that is not sustainable. The immediate gratification is still at the heart of like or love but the social media aspect of liking something is crazy. People claiming to be individuals literally wait on the "trend" to chime in on their likes or dislike.

I used to go on long ass walks just so I could listen to the Combat Jack Show while breathing in my neighborhood. Hearing Combat, Dallas, Pete, Matt Raz, the DJ etc shooting the shyt was infinitely entertaining. And I liked how the guest would be incorporated into the madness. Sometimes it was too chaotic and I wished they'd come up with some type of system to make interviews go smoother but I still loved the show.

Then it became just Combat and Pete. And at one point it was if Pete wasn't allowed to say shyt outside of maybe one random question. I hated that. My interest was already waning and I quit the show.

Everyone has a podcast now. Being the serious guy who interviews people might work on a podcast about studio equipment but when you talking about music or sports or entertainment I want to hear some damn passion and humor. I loved the convos they'd have about Walking Dead for instance, that shyt was more entertaining than actually watching Walking Dead lol.

It seems like Combat was on the verge of doing some big things and then everything stopped. Now the market is so big and nobody really recognizes you for being an OG of the market. Both Combat Jack and Juan Epstein haven't really gone where I thought they'd go, and they're the two older podcasts in the game.

I still liked Juan Epstein though.

Two dudes who have different tastes in music, and it's funny. Feels more like an underground show. And they get guests that other podcasts might not think to fukk with. Not a lot of people would have a Lord Digga or a Buckwild episode. Those are the kinds of guests I look for.

Yea I used to listen to Combats podcast religiously - honestly not listened in like a year

So much variety in podcasts now - hypothetically, if Cam is on both Combat Jack and Nore's podcasts, despite it being the same guest, you just know Nore's personality will make his one unmissable

I don't mind Combat, so wish him the best, but Tax, hope Nore gets his podcast all the way outta here

I liked the dynamic with Jack, Pete etc... That was interesting. I think it all depends on the guests, recently the guests haven't been that captivating to me to make me feel the need to listen. He had a lot of great episodes though and as soon as more great guests are on I'll still be checking for it.

sharked rappers like a jew in the 80s

Nore said he got sharked by Reggie

Combat Jack show will always be the GOAT but yeah he slippin now and his arrogance aint gonna see him through

i personally think you have to be an absolute douche to have a successful podcast

Reggie a douche
Charlamagne a douche
Andrew Schultz mecha douche
even Nore as sound as he is, he loves to tell a story about himself don't he

is what it is

Last one I made it thru was Eric B. Great episode. But it was 100% Eric B. Thing with CJ is the show was imperfect as a round table but thats what made it work. Different personalities bouncing off ea other. I never liked Combat as an interviewer solo. Too much ass kissing of guests and trying to be cool on some fake industry shyt. Everybody is not the greatest all the time but let him tell it they are. No you need to be an interviewer not just another press run stop to kiss ass and promote.

Nore's personality makes it harder for these guys especially Rap Radar, because they all come off as corny. Thats why drink champs is like a breath of fresh air. You need charisma without trying to force it. Combat Jack show peaked years ago. I may listen to the david banner ep but most comments is he kept cutting him off so i may skip it. In this culture you can never let your head get too big and assume that you're always gonna be on top. These dudes are competing and bragging about their podcasts thinking that people are there for them. No homie. Let the guests shine and fall back

Man I got a lot of respect for CJ but the last show with David Banner was borderline listenable, he damn near interrupts him every other sentence to make some lame joke or unnecessary inference. Never gives the guest time to breathe with a question, always interjecting mid answer. He had a good run I guess :francis:
