I'll admit, I was wrong. I was one of the many who was cursing him out at the Barclay's the night he was drafted. The kid can play, and he's not afraid of the NY spotlight.

And can we stop with this trade Melo shyt, him AND KP are going to get us back to the playoffs.
i'm embarrassed of all the fukking morons like you. how are you gonna boo someone on the biggest day of their life because you are ignorant and moronic and don't know shyt about them...fukk you

Some of them are redundant for the Knicks though, like Niko and Portis play the same position as Kristaps, who has a higher ceiling than both of them.

That's why the Heat with Winslow would be the most attractive deal for them, he plays a position they don't have and he's already trending towards being elite at defense.

Stop bringing Winslow for Melo up. :damn:
I don't want Riley to see this and start getting ideas :damn:
Star chasing, especially chasing old stars are going to leave the Heat like the Nets.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
what? which other rookie minus Towns and Okafor will have better numbers than 13 and 8.... what u said is literally retarded

who the fukk would u have drafted? sorry u can't pick who goes to college and produces good. Phil took what was given to him
Calm down breh

I'm not even a Knicks fan, nor do I care that much to remember who you could of drafted

My point was that was the CRITICS AND MELO'S issues with the pick. That he was gonna be good in a few years and not now

Forget the draft. For all THEY cared, you could trade that pick and 90% of the roster for a superstar. You freed up all that cap. Go get somebody important

Again. Melo ain't going. And melo was looking to compete for rings. Out his own mouth. Phil told him it was win now time and please stay.

Then immediately went into rebuild mode

Here's two totally different reporters, working for two different networks, I'm sure with their own sources. And both said the same thing on the same day after the draft

Reports: Carmelo Anthony Fuming Over Knicks' Draft Moves

I was happy that I was rooting for the young Drago when the Knicks chose him. I had scary flashbacks of Fredereck Weis but I definitely extending the olive branch to the kid.

I'm happy I was optimistic. :wow:

Pacers fan? :wtf:

I'm a fan of the NBA, I talk about every team :yeshrug: What more can people ask from Melo? Solid defense, better passing, and stop isoing so much. He breaks from the triangle damn near everytime down the court, far better players played within it before him yet he's going away from it?

A usage rate of 30 with only 3.7apg is putrid, especially since he's shooting 37% right now, he's basically a wasted possession right now and he almost always has the ball. Are you a fan of Melo, or are you a fan of the Knicks as a whole? Cause getting rid of Melo for a solid trade would help them in the long run much more than his shot jacking and ball stopping would.
Hollinger's NBA Player Stats - ESPN Insider - National Basketball Association - ESPN

This is with Melo playing poorly.

You seem to be better versed in stat analysis. Can you explain how he's putrid?

Also, why are people really forgetting that Melo has a no trade clause which completely limits who & where he can go? :mindblown:

Secondly, if Melo is the cancer, or flawed star that you gusy say he is, wouldn't smart GMs know this too? And if so, why would they want a "ball stopping, no defense" Melo in exchange for major pieces(Which is what NY would reasonably demand)?

It's a MOOT point, outside of reality. Melo chose NY. Melo will retire a Knick. At this point, it is about building around our future. Period. HAd NY traded that pick away for anyone but Westbrook, it would have looked stupid.

I love hypothetical discussion about trades and what-ifs...but if we are talking about Melo...keep it in that realm... Don't talk about it like it's within the realm of possibility. :aicmon:

I don't get it. All it took was me to watch one pre-draft workout of this kid on youtube posted in here a week before the draft that left me saying :ohhh::jbhmm: "he's 7'0 doing all that?"

You could see the potential. I had no problem with it. You could see it. How couldn't others?

I'll hold this L but I will staunchly defend the logic behind it. There have been too many Euro stiffs taken in the lottery because they are 7' tall and can walk and chew gum at the same time to at least not strongly consider the possibility that Krips would bust. It's simple pattern recognition :manny:
