I don't get it. All it took was me to watch one pre-draft workout of this kid on youtube posted in here a week before the draft that left me saying :ohhh::jbhmm: "he's 7'0 doing all that?"

You could see the potential. I had no problem with it. You could see it. How couldn't others?

Well most teams had him valued very highly, he got drafted 4th in what looks like a deep draft :ld:

I agree....but the projections of him not being that great....I just didn't get. He looked so fluid to be so tall during those workouts. I was intrigued and found him to be more of a certainty than risk.

dude is legit and made almost everyone look like a complete dumbass for doubting him

7 games in averaging 13 and 8...with already some massive putbacks....

first 7 games of his career and dude is already doing this...just imagine in only a year or two what he can do... :wow:

How many games left in the season?? :jbhmm:

LOL @ CARMELO thinking this is still his team :russ:

I bet Phil will drive Melo anywhere in the country if they can get a sucker to take the contract.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Hollinger's NBA Player Stats - ESPN Insider - National Basketball Association - ESPN

This is with Melo playing poorly.

You seem to be better versed in stat analysis. Can you explain how he's putrid?

What was your goal with this? :jbhmm: He has the 3rd lowest PER relative to usage rate, the other guys are a rookie, a 2nd year player getting over a back injury and the often injured Jrue Holiday, a PG.

Also, why are people really forgetting that Melo has a no trade clause which completely limits who & where he can go? :mindblown:

Secondly, if Melo is the cancer, or flawed star that you gusy say he is, wouldn't smart GMs know this too? And if so, why would they want a "ball stopping, no defense" Melo in exchange for major pieces(Which is what NY would reasonably demand)?

It's a MOOT point, outside of reality. Melo chose NY. Melo will retire a Knick. At this point, it is about building around our future. Period. HAd NY traded that pick away for anyone but Westbrook, it would have looked stupid.

I love hypothetical discussion about trades and what-ifs...but if we are talking about Melo...keep it in that realm... Don't talk about it like it's within the realm of possibility. :aicmon:

Another GM that trades for Melo would have better players in place, if he goes to Miami or Houston he's not the franchise player. That is the problem, you're treating him like a franchise player when those flaws in his game means that you cannot build a title contender around him, especially not now that he's older. We're going to reach a tipping point either this year or next when his offense can no longer offset all the deficiencies in his game, and you're going to be left with an aging ball hog that doesn't want to believe his game is falling off.

Calm down breh

I'm not even a Knicks fan, nor do I care that much to remember who you could of drafted

My point was that was the CRITICS AND MELO'S issues with the pick. That he was gonna be good in a few years and not now

Forget the draft. For all THEY cared, you could trade that pick and 90% of the roster for a superstar. You freed up all that cap. Go get somebody important

Again. Melo ain't going. And melo was looking to compete for rings. Out his own mouth. Phil told him it was win now time and please stay.

Then immediately went into rebuild mode

Here's two totally different reporters, working for two different networks, I'm sure with their own sources. And both said the same thing on the same day after the draft

Reports: Carmelo Anthony Fuming Over Knicks' Draft Moves

What superstar could they trade for? Did you miss the summer when Marc Gasol and Greg Monroe turned them down in free agency?

You don't build title teams through free agency, you do it via the draft. You're still trying to use the example the Miami Heat used as the basis for building a winner when that was an outlier, you apparently still think freeing caproom is the way to build a winner :russ:

how binding is a no trade clause? Why would any team agree to that to begin with

If Phil wanted to trade Melo then he wouldn't of gave him a no trade clause. Worst contracts have been traded away
