Basically the OP is insecure about himself so...
He wants to control his girlfriend by telling her not to talk to other dudes.
This breaks down to a basic insecurity in himself were he believes he is not good enough for her...
Since he believes he is not good enough for her he starts to believe that other guys who talk to her will get with her because of what a joke her boyfriend is...
It also breaks down to a trust issue which comes from his insecurity as well...
