Yeah Cham was one of the first rappers to really embrace the internet and have his own website. Back around 2001 his Chamillionaire.com site used to have all the interviews, updates, videos, music samples & release dates of the Houston rappers with links to each artist's page . It was a one-stop shop that kept me up on Texas rap cus he promoted everybody. Dude was always ahead of the curb technologically wise.

Here's a link from the Internet Archive to go to his site in 2003. His was probably my favorite artist site of all-time.

Songwriters in Hip Hop ain't getting paid like that...

Most songwriters don't get paid like that...but Hip Hop nikka...nah...you ain't getting paid....

https://www.digitalmusicnews.com/2016/09/15/how-songwriters-get-paid/

My Song Was Played 178 MM Times on Spotify. I Got $5,679...
If streaming is now worth billions of dollars, where’s all the money going? That’s now a serious question in light of information surrounding Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” easily one of the top tracks across streaming platforms since its mid-2014 release. Yet one of the song’s key writers, Kevin Kadish, is making virtually zero off of that success, despite a play count surpassing 178 million streams.

“I mean $5,679?”
Kadish shared the figures during a copyright-focused discussion at Belmont University in Nashville this week, where The Tennessean was taking notes. “For a song like ‘All About That Bass,’ that I wrote, which had 178 million streams,” Kadish began, without specifying any streaming services. “I mean $5,679? That’s my share. That’s as big a song as a songwriter can have in their career and number one in 78 countries.

Why does everyone assume he is broke?

Not many people can retire at 30/35, say fukk it and relax on the sofa for the rest of their lives. Even most rappers can't do that.

I don't look at uber drivers as being broke tho. Especially if you pushing a new Tahoe. He probably out at night bagging women left and right. And looking at where that ride was going it was probably someone he could network with or at least jump down on if it was a female. That shyt varies by city and Uber/Lyft in the A got some of the strictest guidelines for the types of cars you can have anyway. Never been scooped in a bucket on Uber in the A. I don't even think you can get on with anything older than a '08. They a lot more leninent in other cities. Call a uber in Chicago and some chick in 2003 CTS pulling up to scoop you.

Not hating but if Chamillionaire can still get court side tickets to finals games, there's no way Roscoe Dash should be broke right now

Chamillionaire is a venture capitalist.

Regarding Roscoe, he's been blackballed and got screwed over on a number of songs he wrote that would have him living comfortably today off of the credit alone.

Lmao dam the game is cold

Roscoe had a very nice run a few years back

I live in that area and I use Uber a lot, I might actually get that man as a driver

BDay Bash is tomorrow too, he should at least be able to catch a check from performing there

Man that's puzzling.. shouldn't he be getting residuals from the hits he wrote and the anthem that has arguably defined one of the most commonly used slang terms in modern Ebonics?

:mindblown:

The bay created the term "Turnt Up" :manny:
