A standard play in American media

I'm also not a fan of the outrage industry the Daily Show created. Jon Stewart, Trevor Noah, John Oliver, Samantha Bee, all these people do is whine and keep their audiences angry, without doing a damn thing about the problems they report and profit on. fukk all of them :camby:

The straw that broke the camel's back for me was something John Oliver did... either he created a SuperPAC or like a corporation or something... and collected money from it.... but didn't do anything with it. These people are the Fox News of the left :snoop:

I like some of that stuff. I'm not a regular Last Week Tonight viewer, but it's something I will watch on occasion. I think John Oliver is funny and the writing staff does a good job.

There's something exploitative about Trevor Noah though. There's nothing wrong with being a mixed person or a black person from a distant, not entirely related culture. But if you enter this culture you need to have respect for the history and the people who laid the foundation. I have the same issue with Afro-Latinos living in this country (which I am) who don't show proper respect to the black American struggle.

Trevor Noah could have easily taken on racism (institutional, social, etc.) in the U.S. and drawn parallels to apartheid South Africa (not fundamentally distinct) but instead he chose to do hackey impersonations of black people utilizing the same "ebonics" heavy bullshyt that white comedians use when they want to reduce us to a cheap punchline. I can't warm up to his humor as a result.

John Oliver and that whole show concept is exploitative in a different way.

But yea, Trevor Noah reminds me of the Jewish dentist from Seinfeld:

I did find his SA experience interesting, but I can also do without the AA impressions. Overall though I'm largely over identity politics/left wing "comedy". I don't need that energy, I have the Coli :jawalrus:

Russell Peters has no fukking right to call any one a joke thief when he stole jokes from Gina Yashere. Then when Gina confronted Russell about using her jokes on one of his specials he said he'd buy her a diamond tennis bracelet as payment to reconcile instead he avoided her and never bought her the bracelet and continued to use her jokes. fukking dikkhead.

Hes stolen jokes from everyone and hes mad because he cant break into TV or movies cuz nobody finds him funny after the asian voices routine dried up faster than his wifes p*ssy after seeing him with his shirt off....

I've seen some of his specials. Apparently he's like a George Lopez type for Indians. Meaning he hangs around alot of black people and since he's brown he thinks he's down. I haven't seen him cross any lines yet but if he is bashing black people now he needs to fall back.

I've known plenty of Coolies, and trust me they talk foul behind your back.

This. South Asians from the West Indies are very anti-black. Especially Indo-Guyanese. They don't even co-exist for the most part once they leave Trinidad/Guyana. In New York all the Indo-Guyanese/Trini live in Ozone Park/Richmond Hill, while the black Trini/Guyanese community is distant in Flatbush/Crown Heights. This is for a reason.

Russel Peters is an Indian,as in an Indian from Asia..:rudy:

He should stay out of Black shyt..I dont care what they have to say, unless they want us to bring up Indians and start discussing them. so:camby:

He talks about growing up around jamaicans as a caveat so he can do black style humor IE white jokes and cater to black audiences....As soon as he made money he stopped all that married a hispanic and started doing tyical middle aged cac comedy about married life...I saw thru his shyt from the beginning.

Iunno how you missed it, but he gets at black people in every single one of his specials that i've seen.

And he always prefaces by saying, "You black people don't scare me! I was raised in the hood, you cant scare me!"
I'm paraphrasing but its basically word for word.

Its very :mjpls:

Why do you think Idi Amin kicked the filth out of Uganda and Julius Malema is now talking about kicking them out of South Africa..
I know the world hates Blacks, but I never met any group anywhere that likes Indians.

Trevor Noah exposed himself when he or the Daily Show Staff - between which no real distinction exists - sent Tomi Lahren a cupcake. But what do you expect of a "colored" from South Africa. :francis:

Trevor is not "colored"

That is a cultural distinction.

Trevor is mixed (first generation) and he grew up in a black township with his granny and mother.
