Comic Book Experts, who should be the villains in a Superman Trilogy?

I don't think they've gone for the sympathetic villain route with Superman movies yet.

they can do like they did in the last Action Comics storyline, and make it so that Metallo is a regular dude in a power suit under Brainiac's control, forced to do all kinds of insidious shyt. Gives Supes someone to brawl with before he goes up against Brainiac and his cosmic mindfukks.

movie 1 - Brainiac. He invades, takes over and we in for all types of fukkery with robots and computers, it'd be on some irobot/matrix shyt.

movie 2 - Doomsday

movie 3 - Darkseid

Lex Luther be the villain in the background, pulling strings and instigating but never the MAIN villain because its been done to death, but could use him to push certain plots along (like his role in the Doomsday saga, or him thinking he could initially partner up with Brainiac just cuz he is obsessed with offing Superman, etc)

Cool to see most people here agree that Luthor should be involved but as the dude in the background being a slimy heel instead of the center of everything like 90% of past superman movies. Lot of people want him not to be involved at all but I think he is essential for a lot of the major Superman stories. Just don't gotta overkill the power vs brains thing most directors seem to be aiming for in past films.

Darkseid is a MUST. Doomsday should be another. As for the third, I'd go with Luthor for old times sake.

That Superman cartoon wuz the shyt....who the fuk is Zod? I don't remember him in the cartoon...I liked Braniac,I remember Doomsday.....maybe Doomsday can kill Superman by the second movie and they can bring Shaq. In as Man of Steel and superboy and supergirl who all get killed off and superman gotta save em all....we just saw that Batman movie and that shyt wuz incredible,long but I didn't even notice....fuk what u say The Batman trilogy is one of the greatest trilogys of all time,better than Godfather...and easily best comic movies of all time.....I'm kinda hopin this Superman flop so they can get back to makin Batman movies....Superman might be just a little too "nice" I think for todays time...not bein a kid no more I don't know if I could have the same face when I hear that happy azz music that plays when Superman comes and saves the day.

zod-brainiac-darkseid if they gon go the realistic route like it seems they will with this new series of flicks... lex luthor should be in all the flicks but as a secondary, constant threat kinda like how scarecrow been in all the new batman movies in one way or another... on some strictly comic book shyt tho he should fight doomsday and bizarro would be good fights but the movie plot would probably be wack
