Highlighting mental illness?
You seemed to have missed the point...
I really don't think that's what the commercial was trying to say. The way it was presented by OP, I thought that was gonna be the direction the commercial was gonna go in as well. But the point was to break stigma surrounding periods. I'm guessing. But I don't see the point, as there's already hella commercials about periods. It's not a taboo subject..at least I don't think..The commercial is focusing on "trans men" aka women who take drugs to look like men. They're trying to say tampons arent only for women because trans men use them also( though they aren't real men and are just women who take drugs to look like men).

What's the point? I don't look at women having periods as nasty. It's Mother Nature. That commerical puts all men in a bad light

That's not what the commercial is about
For one, just because you see it as mother nature, doesn't mean there aren't men out there that don't have some ridiculous views about menstruation. I've seen nikkas go as far as to say that it's abnormal, unnatural, impure, ect.
Here’s What The World’s Major Religions Say About Your Period
Add that to the fact that a lot of women and girls who are impoverished can't always afford period supplies, the idea of the commercial is to imagine how different the world would be if men weren't able to just turn a blind eye to the issue. A lot of the shame and taboo wouldn't hold up. And period supplies would be more likely to seen as a basic need rather than a luxury.

"I'm on my period"
"Me too"![]()
Now make the commercial where women have to face the same consequences as men for the same actions![]()
